1701-D leaned more on adventure, suspense, and magic, while 1701-E leaned on... I don't know what it's objectives were and besides First Contact I'm having trouble to understand it's usefulness. Well, at least a creep like director Bryan Singer was blown out into space. On DS9, the Defiant was a warship but it was beautiful, it moved gracefully and fought that way as well, but whenever I look at 1701-E all I can think of was how dark and monstrous it looked. There were no angles I thought were good, everything about it felt like those terrible fan-made designs of Starships... like the designs done for Axanar.

While I disagree with your description of the E I do agree axanar ship does not look good. Scratch that , it looked absolutely horrible although look up the starship Polaris. It’s fan made and pretty good make. Also there is a pre fed design that looks pretty good too. Also the E lean more on combat effectiveness which I believe in my opinion the d kinda lacked also while the defiant was beautiful it too had the ugly angles

I've always found it to be incredibly generic to be honest. I don't like the starships that move away from having a round saucer section though. There's something too organic about it. It looks like a concept car rather than a space I can believe in. Prefer both the Abrams aesthetic and Discovery's title ship for ideas about how to modernise the concept of a starship. Much like a great deal of the Berman Trek that surrounds it, I think the Enterprise E looks tired.

Yeah I use to feel the same way. I didn’t like the E because of the saucer and I hated the D. But over the years I have come to like the D and love the E. And over the years I have come to like berman trek less over the year.
