So now that Enterprise has been over for years now...

That said, they take a bit too much heat, IMO, for not having every detail of the TCW plotline written before the show aired. Plenty of very successful writers (Stephen King, for example) are well into the writing process before they know how things are going to end.
Not having every detail plotted out is fine; the objection was that there wasn't much reason to think Future Guy would ever amount to anything.

As it is, I stand by my interpretation, which is surely not what they intended but I think better-supported by what's on screen: Future Guy was the hero trying to make the Federation is formed as it should be, no matter what Daniels does to disrupt it.

No one knows. That's why ending the Temporal Cold War in Storm Front I and II the way they did was d-u-m-b.

I still say it was *obviously* a Romulan.

So do I.

On the other hand, it could have been Bugs Bunny.

Re: So now that Enterprise has been over for years now ...

Maybe he was a Denoubulan who was mad that in the future their race seems to have fallen off the map and is no longer prominent in the universe so he trys to end Earth's mission so that the Denobulans can be the new force behind a different Federation :p

They had no plan for Future Guy so when it came time to finally reveal him, they would have to pull it out of their ass.

Yes, but from very early on, fans were predicting it was a Romulan, or a Vulcan in Romulan guise, or vice versa - especially knowing that if ENT went its full seven years, the timeline would be fast-approaching the declaration of the Earth-Romulan Wars in time for a motion picture.

It was interesting that, once Future Guy was forgotten, they actually did do a Romulan-pretending-to-be-Vulcan conclusion to the "Babel One"/"The Aenar" arc.

So yeah, Future Guy is Romulan. ;)

^How about Foghorn Leghorn?

"Future Guy" brought to you by Wyle E. Coyote and ACME Casting.

I've always thought it was Ben Sisko.

Seriously? I had always thought it was a Romulan from day one. It made the most sense then. Then it just got..stupid.

Future Guy was trying to stop the Earth Romulan war?

If everything was put in place to keep the romulans from being bitchslapped, then maybe they COULD have actually eventually taken over the universe like they wanted?

Well, we ARE talking ENTERPTISE here.

Meaning?

Meaning -- being in jail is more fun than watching Enterprise :bolian:
I don't know if it is too wise to talk like this about a series in a forum full of people loving said series.

If I was a fan of Enterprise I would be Hoshi Not Ezri.

Poor Hoshi ... it would be rude to shorten her name. Like Douglas is Doug and Tommy is Tom so what do we get with Hoshi if we just shorten her name? :)

Sorry ... it just ... nevermind moderators :)
