So Like 20" of snow by Saturday afternoon

Mmm. I would still have been expected to work if I hadn't lost my job (NIH). Thank God I did (in so many ways).

I didn't have a sufficient shovel before yesterday either, even though I'm from New England and really should have known better.

I live in Massachusetts and the amount of people who go out and buy 8 shovels before a storm amazes me. We get an average 4 feet of snow and never had to buy a shovel!?!

That sucks!

Well, we got a total of 13 inches by my neighborhood. I dug out my house 2 times yesterday and had to go do the car again this morning. They came and plowed me back in overnight. Lot of schools closing on the island, but my office is open.

Safe driving everyone.

I am not sure how much snow we got...but it melted some yesterday...I will wait til Tuesday to take my car(Thunderbird) out...tires aren't so good on it don't want to risk it.

26" here in the middle of Lawngeyeland.

So, I'm back!

Here is what they are saying around our region:

Here's a brief summary of snow totals from Friday through Sunday...
The High Country (Yancy County to Alleghany County): 12"-24"
The SW NC Mountains (including Asheville, Waynesville, & Burnsville): 8" to 17"
Hickory & Lenoir: 6"-8"
Burke County and NW Caldwell County: 8"-12"
Wilkes County: Around 12"
Mt Mitchell wins the award for the most snow--24" by Saturday morning.

I got 2 feet where I live, yay

What a weekend, I got out in it too, wasn't gonna let two feet stop me, I took my Rav4 out and had some FUN

TD, it is pretty, but i went out today and the roads are in many areas, atrocious! I was really surprised at how poorly they plowed this time. We had some KILLER icicles hanging off the gutters of the house. I went out and knocked them down with a broom...didn't want the mailman to get killed!

Do you live in Winnipeg, too?

You wouldn't have icicles in Winnipeg - nothing gets warm enough to melt!

And the car is almost free. I'll clear it off tomorrow:

I even cleared out a path for the guy behind me, because I'm such a goddamned nice person. :vulcan:
