So, it's Captain Robau...

Re: So, it's Captain Rabau...

I'm curious to know exactly how "Rabau" is pronounced. Does anyone know?
I thought it's "Robau". And I guess it is pronounced ROH-BA-UH.

Thanks! Oh and it would be nice if the original poster would edit the post and spell the name correctly because that's what confused me with the incorrect Rabau spelling.
Not possible. There's a "statute of limitations" on editing, and we're past that. Beside, I don't think that anyone but mods can change THREAD titles anyway... can they?

Oh, I didn't realize this new board had those types of restrictions.

I think the OP can edit the thread title within a very narrow window (five minutes?) after the thread is first posted, but is locked out after that time or after the first reply, whichever occurs first.

At any rate, I think I've fixed the name in the title as it appears on the Forum Index (and on this post), but going through and fixing it on every single entry in the thread is probably a lot more trouble than it would be worth to anyone, so I haven't. :)

Re: So, it's Captain Rabau...

Did I accuse you of not having the right to express an opinion? :wtf:

No, but in your usual fashion you pointed out far more examples of characters-not-made-into-tv-staples from movies than you needed to.

And since when did being "defensive" in a forum get to be a bad thing, Mod?

Cripes, it ain't worth stepping out of TNZ any more round here.

Well pardon me for being thorough. I thought such practice in debating was simply "supporting one's argument with facts", or even "enjoying a conversation"? (Had I listed just one example, the OP would surely have counter-argued, then I would have added one more example a few posts later - and so on. Several examples occurred to me at once, so I simply listed them.) My "usual fashion" is to contribute to a bbs conversation to the best of my ability. I'm sorry - I don't know any other way to do it; I guess in a pub you'd just throw a drink on me, or invite me outside?

Am I truly that annoying? Isn't that what the "Ignore poster" button does?

From my source (good friend) at Paramount he will command the U.S.S. Potemkin in a heroic pitch battle saving Pike and the Enterprise against the Romulans.

I'm sure captain redshirt and his ship will be very interesting, then will be heroically (or not) destroyed, leaving Kirk & Co. To do whatever it requires to do the job. Just like pretty much every other guest captain from the series & movies.

If he were an admiral I'd suggest he was a traitor, since that's the Admiral thing.

Says the man behind prison bars! :vulcan:

Caught and captured by a giant evil weather balloon.
I remember watching that show, The Prisoner, only to see if it would EVER make sense. I watched a lot of episodes... it still never made sense. I guess Berkeley wasn't the only place they did too much 'LDS'. :vulcan:

Makes perfect sense. In fact it makes more sense now than ever. Check it out as an adult. I never quite got it when it first aired in the US, but by the time it came out on VHS I was a young adult and I totally got it.

Re: So, it's Captain Rabau...

I want SHATNER not Captain Magoo
Too bad, because you're not getting Shatner.

And Here's "Captain Magoo"

The problem here is that the Constitution-Class Potemkin not only survives through TOS its part of the operational planning Operation Retrieve in Stat Trek IV.

Robau will have a meaty role as Captain. I can see the Potemkin surviving. The original Dreadnought Battleship Potemkin was very famous. Read the story. It could offer potential insight into the film.

Where did I miss them saying the ship was the Potemkin?

Unless this isnt the Constitution Class Potemkin, theres still the "not seen before" which could mean that its just not been seen but I thought it suggested a new ship.

Even if it is Constitution Class, just means the ship from Op Retrieve is a new build ship.
