So is everyone sold on the title?

It looks like this film will simply be called "Star Trek"

Whats the general consensus on this forum? Is that good enought title? I think it's rather plain.

I, for one, think it's perfect. Simple, elegant and representative of what we're going to be getting. Hopefully.

In a world where Jacob and Emily are the top U.S. baby names, with John #20 and Mary #84, you may have a point. People like frilly. Isabella is #4.

On the other hand, it was good enough for the first crew and I think should be good enough for this one as well. I'd leave it at just Star Trek.

Subsequent films will of course need embellishment, such as Star Trek: The Romulan War (God, I hope ST XII is exactly that!), but this one should just be Star Trek.

If they must put a : there, I wouldn't mind them calling it Star Trek: Regeneration. It signifies a restart, and recasting of the series. It also bookends well with Generations. But I like just 'Star Trek'.

There's no real need for anything more than "Star Trek" as with all the talk that will go along wiht this new one it's doubtful anyone will confuse it with any other Trek.

No need for a subtitle to obscure things for the uninitiated, no need for a number to keep away people who didn't see the first ten movies. This is a return to that which started it all, so why not use the title that started it all? It's as though they're saying "Hey audience, here's your chance to be in on this thing and not have to become a canon-obsessed geek! Here's your chance to watch and understand, from the (new) beginning, Star Trek!"

It's the perfect title.
