So, I died in my dream..

So this is a new experience for me, I have never died in my dreams before.

I'm a little fussy on the details, but I dreamt that there were something wrong with my brain (brain bleeding perhaps?), and that I then died.

It was a strange feeling to die. At first I was a little scared, but then I felt that I was not alone, and that something or someone was guiding me somewhere. I could feel that this something was good, and that I shouldn't be afraid. If I remember correctly then my vision became "blue-ish" and I were floating around towards something.. I think I remember doors opening.

But the really disturbing part is what happened next. I am not quite sure how this appeared in the dream, It's kind of hard to explain, but somehow "this" is supposed to happen within the 10 next years.. In my dream it was clear that this is my future, within the ten next years I'll be dead.

:cardie:

I then woke up and just lied there.. What kind of freakish dream was this?, Just what is it supposed to symbolize? I used a couple of minutes longer than I usually do to wake up, just reflecting, but then woke up and did my normal routine and just forgot about the dream. Now, the next day I stopped to think about the dream..

I find it a bit disturbing actually, and I really hope that I haven't got any magical clairvoyant powers , I hope this was just a freaky dream... But I don't think I would describe it as a nightmare though.. Strangely enough, it was a calm sensation to die. I wasn't alone, and even though I was dead, I had the feeling that this wasn't the end, there's more out there..

I did some googling and apparently dying in your dreams symbolizes inner changes. I'm not really experiences any changes in my life at the moment, so I dunno about that..

So, have anyone else here died in their dreams?

I was killed in at least one dream, a long time ago. There was an Atomic explosion and I was vaporized; I spent the rest of the dream floating around as a ghost.

Luckily, it hasn't come true yet. ;)

I sometimes have dreams where I am about to die, usually by driving off the edge of the road on a cliff or something. I wake up before I actually die, however.

I once dreamed that I was an Imperial officer who had been forced choked by Darth Vader. After I died, I just laid there on the Star Destroyer floor aware of what was going on around me.

Strange, huh?

Just what is it supposed to symbolize?
Nothing. It was a dream.

So what's the general consensus on the board? Are dreams always "just dreams", Can't dreams represent the brain trying to sort out certain issues?

I must confess that I have never given it any thought before, and that the meaning of dreams can just be bogus hokus pokus like star signs etc

A little strange but also very cool ;)

I'd hate to die by strangling, but if that's the way I had to die then I would want Vader to be the one who offed me

Sounds to me like you were dreaming and then upon death in your dream you altered your state and entered the Astral Realm.

I am sorry to be the one to break this to you, but it symbolizes death. It is telling you that you are going to die. I am just a little fuzzy on the exact time frame though. Might be a few months, might be by the end of this century. Either one.

I suppose that some dreams can give some insight on your subconscious. But I think most of them are just random stuff in your brain being reorganized in your sleep. Your neurons fire at random and you get pictures, sounds, emotions, part from memories, part from imagination, etc. Only when you are awake (or half-awake) you try and find a reason or a story to them, because that is what our mind does.

My dreams are usually lucid (that means I'm aware it's a dream), but I can't always take control over them (changing things directly and stuff like that). I can bend them, tho, as if giving suggestions where the dream is going. I can also wake up at will.

I died in a dream once- I was murdered by an invisible "presence" of evil that threw me off a bridge. I was floating above my bleeding corpse and looking down on it.

I've never died in my dreams. If something happens to me that should kill me, somehow it missed and now I'm just playing dead.

On the other hand, I can't kill in my dreams either, even if the bad guy is standing right in front of me and I have a loaded gun.

I've dreamed of being indestructible, being fragile, and dying to various degrees (most notably one dream where I saw my own death and took steps to prevent it) on many occasions. Most of those dreams seem to involve computer games, though.

I hope you remember to save regularly. :shifty:

I remember being run through with a sword . . . I could feel the blade warm up to my body temperature and it was the strangest feeling as it was pulled out . . . didn't hurt, more like a warm feeling coupled with a crippling shock of being stabbed in the gut . . .

You know what they say if you die in your dream you die in real life!! That means YOU'RE DEAD! DEAD!!!! MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAcoughhaha.. ha. Yeah.
