So, I bought the 4K Steelbook of Star Trek (XI) from HMV...

Yeah, since I've been on a Trek kick, I figured I'd make my first new physical media purchase; and since the shows I'd own on home video are The Next Generation and Enterprise, and since I'd like to own them on blu-ray (which is costly), I figured I'd instead purchase Star Trek XI on 4K.

The 2009 film I remember being pretty damn fun, even though as an adult, I do think it's not a good representation of the franchise as a whole. Still, with a Vulcan salute pin, a Captain's log notebook and a killer package, the 4K Steelbook is a steal for me.

P.S. insert far-right media grifters ranting and raving about MUH JAR JAR ABRAMS and how HE KILLED STAR TREK!11!!! here

I haven't had much desire to revisit it recently myself but it did accomplish what it set out to do; it got a lot of people interested in Star Trek again, myself included, and it proved to the powers that be that it was still viable.

This was unnecessary and falls outside the topic area appropriate to this forum...
So whether or not someone likes Kelvin-Trek breaks down neatly along political lines?
... and for the reasons stated above ought to have gone without a response.

Unless it can be tied directly to a story element which is part of the Star Trek film under discussion, any talk of real-world contemporary politics does not belong here.

@Neb Lleb may be new, but @Set Harth, you know this perfectly well. Just don't.
