So how would YOU portray vampires?

I alreadly did, too which you answered and began this whole conversation.

You don't remember me saying that vampires are Demons that murder people and why do people in modern times find that romantic, enough to date one?

I do remember that, but you keep ignoring my explanations!

You asked if I would date a werewolf. I said yes, if they were a decent person and we could control them when in their monster form.

You then declared that I would date a serial killer.

I then tried to explain why I think serial killers and werewolves are not the same thing.

You replied "instinct." "Instinct" is not an answer.

I do not find werewolves or demons attractive. But if I find a PERSON attractive and they happen to also be a werewolf, I would try to work that out.

How am I ignoring your replies, if I'm addressing them?

...and no, I joked you would date a serial killer, vampire & werewolf based on your " I would date a Werewolf" comment. Seriously, how was anyone supposed to reply to that other than a joke?

According to Kegg and using M as an example, they kinda are the same.

You were addressing random parts of my replies an ignoring the parts where I actually explain myself.

I have no idea what M is. As I thought I had made clear, I was going by Buffyverse rules (with characters like Oz and Nina). If the person can be controlled while in monster mode (this is the part you keep ignoring), why should I shun them when they are a perfectly normal person the other 27 days out of the month?

I have no idea what M is.
It's a classic of German cinema! And cinema in general!

Ahem.

My point is serial killers can be people who kill because of a deranged compulsion, a mental illness of some sort. I don't see how that isn't equatable with werewolves - rather, that seems to be exactly what the werewolf myth is all about (well that and puberty, I suppose.)

Then I most definitely have no idea what it is.

As for the rest, I guess this whole argument depends on what werewolf lore you're talking about. The only exposure to werewolves I've ever had is from Buffy...and Professor Lupin from the Harry Potter movies.

Then let's put it this way, regardless of what you've seen in Buffy & Harry, which are TV & young people friendly. Werewolfs can not be contained or controlled and are nothing but killing machines.

From films like "M. to "The Howling" to "American Werewolf in London".

Oh, really? You've studied real life werewolves, have you?

We're talking about fictional monsters! You can't adhere to a single set of rules and claim they are fact.

I know werewolves from Buffy. Those are the rules I'm going to follow.

(GASP!!) You mean Werewolfs aren't real!!!!!!!

How do you know what can & can't be adhered to about Werewolfs? You said you didn't know anything about them beyond Buffy.
..but of course it makes sense to get upset with someone trying to teach you differently because they've actually watched a werewolf movie and not some made for TV one.

That's the point! None of us can lay down any definitive rules about this subject because different authors come along all the time with different rules about how it works.

Unless we want to break this argument down into: Buffy werewolves, Twilight werewolves, Harry Potter werewolves, Underworld werewolves, etc... and I really don't want to do that.

I will concede and simply say that, yes, I would date a Buffyverse werewolf. I cannot speak on behalf of any other werewolves.

Nope.
Werewolf bite, silver bullett, full moon.
All pretty much standerd Werewolf lore.

And none of those things have to do with murdering people.

 Love guys...I really do! Arguing over werewolves!

So, for me, Vampires are 'sex on a stick' and I like the 'wild' nature of the mythos of the vampire. Give me Bill Compton, Mick St. John and Angel, any day  (and yes, I like Edward the Emo-Vamp too for pure entertainment, thus the AV of Pattenson playing around with his image)

You'd be surpised at how many things a bullet can kill.

Once again, not an argument.

If a person is a werewolf, and if you know they're a werewolf, and if you know when they're going to change into a werewolf, why exactly is it impossible to control them? Lock them in a cage before they change!

What in "traditional" werewolf lore prevents you from doing that?

My best advice is, watch a "real" Werewolf movie or a few.
The Werewolfs always get out of their cages.
They're rumored in films to be very strong, they bend bars, claw through wooden doors.....

That chainlink fence cage Giles locked up Oz in on Buffy, wouldn't hold a Werewolf in a regular Werewolf movie. He'd spend all night bending those bars to get out.
Keep in mind, peoples strength on Buffy was subjective to the story. One minute Buffy can punch through a door, the next she isn't strong enough to shut a door to keep 3 vampires out. If Angel is as strong as Buffy, a cage shouldn't hold him either. Especially since Angel is also very clever.

I had a feeling that was going to be your argument. It's not that it's impossible; it's that the humans underestimate the werewolves' abilities.

What if it was a modern-day werewolf? What if they were in a thick, concrete jail cell with no bars or windows?
