So how long...

Sadara

Lieutenant Commander
Red Shirt
were Kira, Garak, and Damar stuck in Mila's cellar? Sometimes I have a hard time getting a good feel for time with DS9.

Hmm... I am not sure either. He dies in the very end of 2375.... and I think he started his rebellion also in 2375. So the time between start and end of rebellion/ revolution must be under one year. My guess is 4 to 12 weeks that the three spend together in the cellar.

The Final Chapter arc takes place over at least a month, based on a conversation between Worf and Ezri in "What You Leave Behind". I seem to recall "The Dogs of War" being a few weeks before the final episode.

We could settle this with stardates. (Or then with baseball bats at dawn, whichever is less painful.)

Memory Alpha lists quite a few stardates for the final episodes, yet none of them actually feature stardates in dialogue. The numbers are derived from various computer graphics and the like. If we trust those graphics, the final two episodes take place around SD 52800, whereas the early ones tend to have dates in the SD 52600 ballpark. Yet 200 SD units amounts to a whopping one-fifth of a year in DS9 style of reckoning! (And that's pretty consistent elsewhere in DS9, plus in TNG and VOY and retroactively even in TOS...)

Could Kira have been hiding there for more than two months? Why not; it's not as if there'd be any hurry. Except of course Odo slowly succumbing to the disease - but that's handled within the scope of the "52600 episodes" already. Basically, two months might have passed between "Extreme Measures" and "Dogs of War", in which time Odo fully recovered, Sisko got his new ship, and the Dominion finally located Damar's resistance movement's "secret underground headquarters"...

In absence of contrary arguments, I'd thus indeed claim that the interval was two to three months. Although Damar might have retreated to Mila's basement towards the end of those months, not right from the start; Mila doesn't make it sound as if the rebels have been spending all their time there for the past few months, until recently.

Wait, didn't Kira and co only get stuck on Cardassia in Dogs of War not in Extreme Measures?

Whoops... Right. Damn. Got my eps completely confused. So the stardates don't figure in here at all.

Damar's team arrives on Cardassia in "Dogs of War", and the action is tightly packed from there on: the Resistance is betrayed, Damar is stranded in the basement, he plots an immediate counterstrike, we see it executed, and then Dominion withdraws to the Cardassian star system, with the allied forces following in their wake in the very next episode, which also ends the basement banishment of our heroic terrorists.

Basically, if one wants to insert multiple days or weeks into the adventure, it would have to be during the time Damar spends planning for his attack against the Jem'Hadar barracks. But inserting more than a couple of days there would be rather awkward. So I'd say Mila's basement was only busy for a week or so.
