Matt has done his bit of endorsing certain looks, that is for sure!
I would start wearing black rimmed glasses but I don't want be the clone of my late father.
I can just imagine him reading a "Where's Waldo?" book on the show.
Doctor: "There's Waldo! And there and there and there!"
Rory: "Uh, Doctor, those are all different people."
Doctor: "It's Waldo in his previous regenerations. Do try and keep up. You know, I think this Waldo has something; dress in the most rediculous getup you can think of and no one will ever notice you. I must try that sometime."
It is a very good disguise. But then, there are some famous people that just aren't recognizable unless they're in character. On the other hand, I doubt any amount of disguising could adequately conceal David Tennant.
Granted, Karen Gillan doesn't look like she's in disguise but I suppose she doesn't need to be. I recall an interview a while back where she said that, when people saw her in real life, they didn't think it was her but they commented that they thought she looked a lot like her. They didn't manage to put 2 & 2 together until they saw Matt Smith next to her. So disguise Matt Smith well enough and all you're left with is a generically sexy redhead. (And I have a sinking feeling that she'd still be out of my league, even if she weren't famous.
