I recall David Weber rewriting one of his first books, Path of the Fury (1992), because 432 pages wasn't long enough, and was way too entertaining, and retitled it In Fury Born (2006), because 864 pages with lots more standing around and talking seemed like a good idea to him. I... disagree.
