Smallville: What other DC characters should show up?

Batman and Wonder Woman.
not that i even care, since i don't watch the show and i only like the Bat-family from DC, but serioously, WB, WTF is the problem with bringing in the Bat and the Amazon?
don't give me that crap about wanting to keep the Bat on the big screen. it's bullshit. if you can put out SR while Smallville's still running, you can damn well pick some one to play Bruce Wayne for a coupla episodes of the damn TV show.

Yeah, but it's a dead issue at this point. Warner has stated repeatedly that Bruce Wayner will never appear on the show. I doubt they're going to change their minds now, no matter how many times this gets debated on the internet.
It's a shame about Wonder Woman, though, since her movie seems to be dead in the water anyway.
Batman is an obvious choice which will never happen because of the embargo...I have always thought that Wonder Woman and Green Lantern would be very cool. Now that the Legion have finally shown up that Mon-El (or Valor) would be cool as well. Zatanna is suppossed to appear later this season according to some rumors.
I know that there are "Embargoes" on certain characters, but what I never have understood is the reason for it.

Is there a serious concern that most people will be confused by a younger version of a comic book character they've never heard of, if that same character may also possibly appear in a movie (that MAY or MAY NOT come out in the next 10 years!) which they probably won't go see anyways?

Given its the CW, anytime in the near future, you're much more likely to see characters from other CW shows on “Smallville” & vice-versa than more DC characters showing up.
The networks are more interested in promoting & cross promoting their own shows than doing anything cool, different, interesting &/or humorous.

I agree with those who said Mon El. He is the most obvious and logical choice for the time being.

It's more that they're worried about overextending their 'big three' and diminishing their market share when the characters appear.
I believe there may also be certain licensing issues...oft-times characters are licensed for the big screen and are therefore off-limits to live-action small screen (for example). There may be multiple issues that branch from not only Time-Warner, but from pre-acquisition agreements which must be adhered to as well.
