Smallville Summer Hiatus Thread III (Spoilers)

It amuses me already of the hesitation over "Homecoming" we've seen a few pictures out of context without knowing the plot of the episode yet and already some of us are hesitant about it...ahhhh the life of a "Smallville" fan. "Homecoming" actually happens to be one of my most anticipated episodes this season, mostly because of Brainy is in it and I'm eager to see how they screw him up so I'm right there with you guys but I still find it funny.

You've got a point AY about making assumptions based on a few photos that we've seen out of context. Despite knowing that on an intellectual basis, I still have reservations about this one.

It could be great. On the other hand, it could also turn out to be a train-wreck.

I was more hopeful about "Homecoming" until the photos came out. I just can't wait to see every episode this season and then look back...I hope it won't be like LOST...after the 6th season and the finale I find it hard to want to watch again...it really didn't end in a place where it was that got me watching from the beginning.

By the way...I just checked out the first ten minutes of "Hellcats" and it already has that CW formulaic feel to it and I lost interest lol.

I have a thread in TV & Media about Hellcats...there I stated I was going to watch it online when it is on the CW website...I thought the extended preview was interesting...when I do see it I will let you know what I thought. :)

It was something that I had a casual interest in mainly because of the two main stars, and then I made the error of watching it and as I said immediately lost interested and turned off the tv and told myself never again lol.

That bad?

A SMALLVILLE note...I have a feeling Rosey is coming back...this will obviously be near the end of the season.

Yeah it was that bad...I'm not sure who will actually like that show, there comes a point where hot chicks are not enough even for me to tolerate something.

I am not sure if Hellcats will last...Tom might have to do an 11th season of SMALLVILLE.

I posted in the "Hellcats" thread...and seriously...if there is ANOTHER season of fucking "Smallville" after this one I'm done.

Yeah I think SMALLVILLE is done after this one but METROPOLIS is possible. ;)

If a spin-off happens it most likely will be Blue Beetle...since they are bringing in the character this the 10th season.

I think "Blue Beetle" is all but a done deal, the test footage has been online now for the last couple of months, as you noted they're bringing in the character and the Executive Producer and main proponent of the spin off Geoff Johns (I think he created Jamie Reyes, I could be wrong but it's either him or DiDio) is writing the episode that he'll be guest starring in. I would have much preferred a "Green Arrrow" show...as much as I like Justin Hartley I don't see him doing much else, maybe going back to soap (I used to watch him on Passions when Passions was good). I just found out that Justin has been married to my second favorite character on that show (Theressa played by Lindsay Hartley nee Korman since 2004!!! Good for them).

Blue Beetle is something that is going to be fresh...I think anything else would carry SMALLVILLE baggage. I would have loved to seen Britt Irvin in a Stargirl series. :D

I was re-watching "Salvation" on the CW website and it is probably one of the most balanced finales...which only a handful for me have been great compared to excellent regular season eps.

Oh Jet...I wish you were right about "Blue Beetle" but after "Smallville" I just think Beetle is going to be more of the same from the CW no matter who is in charge of the series. If Geoff was the show runner and wrote episodes then I would probably have a higher interest in it than I do right now, alas, I've not even bothered to look at the test footage and I have actually come to like the Jaimie Reyes version over the last couple of months. I dunno. I just feel like they'll stick to the same old crap they have given us in "Smallville"...look at the "Aquaman" pilot...it was enjoyable but I shudder to think what filler episodes of that would have been. "Blue Beetle" will follow the same formula, they'll mess around with Jamie and his girlfriend and bring in some other girl or create a love triangle that will tease and won't have a pay off. The only fix that fans might get from it are that we'll see more DCU cameos and appearances.

If they can keep Brian & Kelly away from it...I am sure it will be ok.

I have a feeling that they'll be involved in some capacity...unless they come up with another show for the network, they're the logical choice to head "Blue Beetle".

They need to find "good" producers & writers for Blue Beetle...I am sure after Jan...we will hear about what is coming next.
