Smallville Summer Hiatus Thread III (Spoilers)

I know exactly what to do with her.

Seriously, I don't think KK is as talentless as everyone makes her out to be...KK playing Lana as the normal one that bad things seem to happen to...damsel in distress if you will is good with KK/Lana...having her do all these crazy things and putting in very action oriented situations where she takes the lead...doesn't work. Keeping her at a distance until there is a vital need for her to be in the middle of the story would have been best...I think KK is best suited for soap acting than the heroine in an SF/F action series...JMHO.

I don't think KK is talentless either, I just think that they haven't given her good direction or writting on the show, and so that is how we know her, Smallville hasn't really shown the actress in the best light, I bet she can do much better out there, I would love to see her become a regular on some really good SCIFI show.

Just as long as she isn't the heroes love interest or the hero.

I enjoyed Chuck till she she showed up. it's not that she's bad, but that she just popped the bubble and she made me realize that it had always been bad but I didn't really care.

Legend of Earthsea : KK sucked.

Street Fighter : KK empty and laughable

Guest appearances on Chuck : Despite a well written and directed show, an empty and vapid performance. Mostly forgotten and better off left that way.

Given that KK has sucked in everything I have seen from her, aside from her make-up commercials I suppose, is what has led me to my conclusion that she has no real acting talent. Anyone can read lines and go through the motions. But to act? To really act the role? To put on their skin and walk around in it? To not just know the role, but become it? Sorry. She just doesn't even come close to having that talent in the slightest degree. She's a talking mannequin that can look sad on demand. It isn't just Smallville that observation is based on.

Justin Marks wrote a horrible script and built the story around a character that would have been better served as a supporting character instead of the starring one. Never saw Wizard of Earthsea, and thought she was fine in her "Chuck" appearances. I don't think though you can blame everything wrong with Lana Lang on Kristinn. For the most part she was a totally different character than the comics...I'm not saying she will win an Oscar one day, far from it, I just don't think she's that terrible at all. My first exposure to Kristin was her work in "Edgemont" the Canadian teen soap (yes yes I watched it) and she was great in that. I think it's just a matter of being able to decide what kind of role she can handle and tapping into her talent that way. Obviously some DO think she has talent or else she wouldn't be working and getting auditions still.

I think KK is best with quiet moments, subtle emotional scenes...the lens loves her and doing very quick action oriented scenes may take away from that...much what they were doing with Lana as the seasons went on. I didn't see her on Chuck or the Street Fighter film...just SMALLVILLE...and I enjoyed KK/Lana seasons 1-3 more so than 4-8.

Out of all the main SMALLVILLE ladies if I was casting a similar type series...

Kristin Kreuk & Cassidy Freeman would be my top choices...and they are the ones who get the most hate.

Erica Durance and Allison Mack seem to get more love up in here.

Other SMALLVILLE alum I would consider...Laura Vandervoort(Of Course) & Britt Irvin(Stargirl)...Missy Peregrym & Alexz Johnson too...way before Erica Durance.

Lets just slowly move the entire cast of Smallville over to Rookie Blue?

by no means is it a good show, but it seems to be drawing Smallville actors into it's bosom quite well. The same of course can be said for Blue Mountain State whic has given Sam Jones III more dialouge every episode than in any seaosn he was on Smallville, and frack me but the DEPTH of talent in Smallville's Aquaman toward playing a Psychopath College highschool jock is boggling.

Have no interest in "Rookie Blue" but did consider watching the pilot mainly due to Missy Peregeym, I loved her in "Reaper" as Andie. I have a soft spot for Kristin and Lana in particular...which is why I'm so passionate about her horrible write out and why I'd love her to come back for at least one more appearance. The writers just mishandled incredibly, much like how Lucas mishandled having an incredible actress like Natalie Portman and giving her such cheesy lines...it's not shocking that most would think she sucks. Go see Nat in the upcoming "Black Swan" and then tell me she is a horrible actress...

Natalie Portman is awesome.

I simply want Lana back...like Lana from before season 4.

Yep Lana before all the on again off again bash us over the head because her and Clark are toxic. We know Brian. We know Kelly. You don't actually have to go and make her toxic physically.

I think Lana not coming back after S7 would have been better than what happened in S8...it was a good break and it wouldn't have ruined 2 characters...Lana & Tess...who is still suffering from that plot.

I'm surprised that they brought her back so soon, only to do that to her. If anything I think it would have been interesting to bring her back last season and instead of Tess being revealed as a Checkmate agent, it's Lana. This would have negated the awkward momentum shift that occurred during her return during "Bride" and allowed Clark and Lois to progress more naturally instead of rehashing his unresolved feelings towards Lana. The way they resolved them was to make her Kryptonite Woman, brilliant move guys. Lana then would have revealed to Tess that Lex is still alive but she hasn't been able to locate him but has been using her all this time as a spy. Lana also would be responsible for helping Martha become the Red Queen. She and Clark would have had a final moment where she tells him that this is her destiny...and despite The Wall's forcefulness and agressive manner Lana is really been helping him behind the scenes. Lana also gives us the first hint of next season when she reveals "Something dark is coming Clark...you need to be ready to stop it before it's too late."

^
That would have been better.

UPDATED 9/5/10: A major Smallville landmark/set will most likely be making its FINAL appearance in this episode. "Ambush"

What could it be?

^ That's news? Come on people...this is the FINAL season so of course we'll be seeing a bunch of stuff for the final time (I'm not slagging you Jet just the "news" story) *rolls eyes*

I am hoping it isn't the barn or any of the farm set...not this early.

The Talon would be one and Luthor mansion another...if Tess is taking over Watchtower.
