In the John Byrne 1986/87 (or thereabouts) relaunch, Clark operated in secret for nearly a decade before being seen and photographed leaping from a crowd into flight to save the plummeting "Space Plane" Lois was on.

Of course he also spent much of that time traveling the world and learning philosophies and martial arts and such, all the while being the "mystery savior". Ma Kent famously kept a scrapbook of all those stories and quite some time later that scrapbook came back to haunt the Kents.

Ah, those were fun times, knowing the characters but not "knowing" the new characterizations. Generally, I approved of what they did back then. I'm quite hopeful JJ Abrams will do the same with NuTrek.

What an improvement over last week's lame episode...Zee was interesting and very hot as usual for a CW show it seems. The ending with Chloe was awesome, especially the score playing in the background building up the big reveal. "Watchtower is online" one of the best quotes in the entire series! I agree with NX that Clark in the blue and red clothes is the closest we're going to get to see him become Superman. As much as I've been disapointed over the second half of the season after such a strong first half I guess I'll finish up watching the season but will make a decision in the summer time weather or not to continue watching a season nine. BTW don't know if anyone knows this but the last two episodes of the season are titled Injustice and Doomsday respectufully and the season finale seems like it is going to be HUGE.

Naah. Sometime next season he finds his dog chewing on his totally ruined jacket. He then wants to rescue Lois from an evil 10 year old Lex clone.
But since the redblue blurr can't be seen as just blue blurr he has to reluctantly put on the old cape he got from that actress years ago.

I actually wouldn't mind them making Clark's outfit into something similar to Conner's but if they do that then don't use his original outfit. I always hated Conner's original Superboy outfit, like the jeans and black t-shirt better. Maybe instead of the black t-shirt just have Clark wear a red jacket and blue t-shirt with the House of El crest on the chest that would work as well. Oh and while I'm here...could someone please inform the writers and producers that Clark FLYING doesn't mean that he is SUPERMAN and that having him FLY would be a great way to introduce NEW story elements and DEVELOP his character without necessarily putting the poor boy in tights!

See the thing I like about Conner's outfit is the jacket and sunglasses. The jacket totally fits in with what Clark's already been wearing. The sunglasses reverses the old Clark with glasses theme, but still works to make a minor disguise. It also fits with Ollie's shades when he's GA.

The "look" of Conner's outfit is punk kid, and it's totally different than anything Clark has ever worn so it is a completely different image that no one would relate to Clark Kent. So of all possibilities, it makes the most believable one.

Then add to all that, it is an actual outfit from the comics, so it works that way.

Leave off the "S" and Clark doesn't have to call himself Superman yet. Put the El crest on his belt buckle, or does he still have that power thingee that has the El symbol on it? That would finish it.

Y'know something... I think Erica Durance may actually be my favorite Lois Lane. At least she is better than the girl from the Superman Returns movie.

That was an awful miscast, IMO.

I liked Dana Delaney as the voice of Lois in the animated series, and Teri Hatcher was fun, and I have fond memories of Margot Kidder...

But I think Erica has gotten the part down, especially in this last season.

Great episode. Funny too.

- It was more a Lois episode than it was a Zatanna episode.

- To me it seemed like Erica was still acting like Lois. Chloe's mannerisms weren't that obvious to me.

Oliver should have a stick-on Robin Hood-type beard for when he's in costume.
I laffed when I read that. It is a pretty good idea actually, but just imagine the comedy it could generate.

He might not be flying but Clark has definitely reached the point where he's "leaping tall buildings in a single bound." If I recall, in the first comic, Superman couldn't fly but got around by leaping buildings.
They've paid homage to that before.

Yeah, she's good.

So Clark will have his first kiss with Lois but it will be Chloe....right?
They already had their first kiss. It was when Clark was in the Green Arrow outfit and Lois thought she was kissing Ollie.
