Ollie took the Toyman's ape with him. Perhaps it had some sort of technological mind-transfer function.

Not that I think that's what happened...but there WAS an opportunity for Lex to access Ollie in that hospital room with the help of Schott.

I was thinking. What if the "transfer" actually occurred back during the season premiere in the arctic and Ollie has been harboring Lex this whole time. This would explain a lot of Ollie's actions over the season.

But really, I hope it's not something so trite. The show probably only has seven episodes left. There's already enough plot threads to untangle in that short time that's it's going to a big enough mess as it is. If they add any more it's going to be a disaster with shades of last season.

My main problem with the episode was Ollie's killing Lex and then letting Schott take the fall for it. Too out of character. Ollie has too much of a conscience to do that. I think he'd be capable of killing if he felt he really had to--though more likely to save a life or lives directly, rather than is such a cold-blooded fashion. But no way would he let someone else, no matter how evil, go down for it. He'd own up to what he did and take the consequences.

I hope they deal with that in future episodes, but I kind of doubt it.

The Green Arrow in comics varies according to the writer, but I think he's capable of killing, but wouldn't unless there was no other option. Being a non-superpowered hero, and in Mike Grell's days he abandoned the boxing-glove arrows and stuck strickly to broadheads, he is on the power level of a policeman, and would shoot to kill if there was no other way. Usually there is another way since he's such a great shot, and generally clever.

There is a large difference between Clark and Ollie, if Clark kills Lex, which he was almost going to do for the stupidest of reasons, then why not kill other people who can't be touched by the law? Why not just walk in and kill a foreign dictator? Why not kill a US president who unjustly orders the invasion of a foreign country, killing thousands? How does Clark decide? He has the power to kill anyone, any time, in the blink of an eye with no one knowing what happpened. The idea that Superman draws a line and will not kill is pretty important.

In the end, Ollie is just a guy with a bow and arrow. He has a lot of resources with his fortune and his company, but he's going to make the same choices you or I would, and in an extreme situation, with an extreme guy like Lex, he makes the extreme choice. Lex had Toyman plant a bomb that was intended to kill Ollie. In Ollie's place I would, if I had the resources, have taken him out. Clark can't be around Ollie 24/7 to protect him from Lex's vengence, so Ollie has to take care of himself.

And, for sake of arguement, Lex is inside Ollie...when/how did this transfer take place? There is nothing in the epsiode to suggest that something like that happened to Ollie.

I don't buy the katra thing, either, but the whole thing about Ollie planting the bomb was horribly explained, and a lot could have happened if Oliver actually went into the truck to gloat to Lex about killing him.

An important chunk of time not accounted for ... that we didn't see.

I felt like giving this one an above average.

I too am of the opinion that the Lana ark took the show steps backwards and disrupted what was a really good season up until that point...

But I also thought the Lana/Clark relationship epilogue here was very nicely handled and acted.

I haven't read any comments yet. I'll get to that later.

On one hand, this was a tragic episode and it was good on that level. On the other they shouldn't have brough Clark and Lana together again only to break them up like this. What we got last season was a good way to end their relationship. If you think about it, this wasn't really a breakup with any closure. They're being kept apart. How can the genuine Lois and Clark relationship that they've been building toward blossom from this? Ah well...

Lex isn't dead of course. Rosenbaum must be mad right now that they used Lex without his involvement. I hope this doesn't upset him enough to keep him from coming back like he said he would.

I really liked that song they played at the end. I looked it up and it's called "Goodnight, Travel Well" by The Killers. I'm listening to it now.

I hate how this nano suite gives Lana the ability to run as fast as Clark. I can understand the strength and invulnerability, but I can't understand the speed. How can a suite make her run as fast as Clark? IMO it should make her run faster, sure, faster than a normal human, but no where near as fast as Clark. IMO the properties of the suite are unrealistic.

Also, when they were having sex, if he shot his load into her it would still kill her cause the suite is only on the outside.
How does this whole thing work anyway? Is it a suit or isn't it? If it's a suit, where is it? Where was it when they had sex?

Guess now Clark's only sex options are his cousin.

I've been wanting Clark to shag her for a long time now, cause if he doesn't I will :D
She'll kill you if she gets too excited.

A fitting way to end Lana on the show.

At least until they bring her back for a guest shot. :p
Yeah, now that you mention it. They can bring Lana back next season and get rid of her problem so that she can be with Clark again. :cardie:
More importantly people........who was the actress that played that nurse?!

The internet is your friend...

Chiara Zanni
I was gonna mention her. She was the lead on a show called About a Girl where she played another "Chloe Sullivan" type. You know, a cute, personable blonde. It was nice to see her on Smallville.

Well, they burned her surface flesh off first...I'm speculating that the "suit" is sort of like a plasti-derm...a surface that serves as a sort of armor that amplifies an individual's abilities as well as serving as their outer layer of "skin".

I absolutely detest how they brought back Clark & Lana for this, had this huge dramatic ending and broke them up not by their own volition, but because they're forced to.

The new team just completely shat over almost every advancement in the storyline they started with. It's idiotic.

I'm just curious about how they plan on bringing Lex back if they're able to get Rossenbaum to return for a series finale. Everything I've read seems to indicate that a season nine is a high possibility...which would suck in my opinion and almost be pointless. If they've actually gone and killed Lex permanently, which I doubt, that was a big mistake even if you're not planning on telling stories about Clark as Superman. The last few episodes since Legion have been horrible...

^ If Welling turns them down they're doing a spinoff from what I've recently read.

Two of the producers are leaving regardless to oversee CW's rebirth of Melrose Place.

I've read the spin-off rumor as well...I remember back to last year when the rage was all about a possible Supergirl spin-off but then they axed Laura.
