We haven't seen the Horseman of Famine or Pestilence yet have we? Abraham aka War is still out there. Surely other things trapped in Purgatory were released when Moloch was killed and are roaming out there. There's lots of ways for the show to go.
I loved how this episode mirrored the pilot but with the two leads' situations inverted.
Aside from the ones already mentioned (Abbie almost getting trampled by the horses, the Starbucks conversation about changes to the town, etc.), we also got a flipped jail scene and Ichabod's mentor being beheaded instead of Abbie's.
Things do not look promising on the renewal front, though. The finale didn't manage to lift the ratings for the show and Sleepy Hollow may be tied too closely to the former regime at Fox (I think Reilly championed this show as one of his successes) to be granted a stay of cancellation. Hopefully, I'm completely wrong.
This would at least be a more satisfactory ending that what we got for Constantine.

Ooh, crazy thought -- what if the Rising Darkness that Constantine is fighting is the Apocalypse that Ichabod and Abbie are fighting??? It would make so much sense! Both shows have pretty similar portrayals of angels, for one thing...
If both shows get canceled... does that mean the Rising Darkness won?![]()
I could've done without the graphic beheading. My minimal tolerance for gore was exceeded by a certain scene involving Fish Mooney in the preceding hour's Gotham, so I really didn't want to see any further discorporation of human body parts.

No, it means...
"We are cancelling the Apocalypse!"

The Apocalypse...will NOT be televised
