Sleepy Hollow Season 2 Discussion

Now, this was more like it. Sharif Atkins has far better chemistry with Nicole Beharie than Matt Barr ever did. If he's a recurring character, as seems to be the intent, then he's a welcome addition.

The idea of magic holographic Thomas Jefferson was just the kind of crazy we hope for from this show, but the dilemma was unconvincing. Did they really have to blow up the Fenestella right that minute? The Reavers were well-contained most of the time. They could've taken a few hours to clear out all the invaluable books and scrolls, then blown it up.

I was basically coming here to say the same thing. Look at that, instant chemistry. If he could have been cast as Hawley, see what a much better actor brings. Man I wish Sharif Atkins was around from the beginning of the season. I can just tell he's going to bring something special to the show. Not be the black hole that Matt Barr WAS!
 
Crane could have at least shoved a few books in his pocket or bag. That whole "dilemma" was thin, at best.

At least Jenny saw through Irving's ruse--but I wonder how much of his little story was true?
 
I don't understand why they couldn't have just come back with more folks and more firepower, stood at the bottom of the ladder, and just mowed them down, far from the magical power source.

Or even why no one bothered to just give them the "CPU" and plug it into a modern power source or something. It's not like they're not without a witch from the same coven who could've created some kind of converter or something.
 
I have an idea, should the show be renewed, that we've not seen the last of President Jefferson and his magic box...

I am REALLY happy they didn't go down the road of Jefferson getting flirty with Abby, ala his affair with Sally Hemings. That would have been a little too much.
 
A very good episode, IMHO, though they could've made Jefferson's hologram purely magic-based rather than a "combination of science and magic." 18th-century people obviously did not possess the appropriate knowledge and technology to create an interactive holographic image.
 
Really enjoyed this one. The stuff with the hologram Jefferson was fun. I've been playing Assassin's Creed III for the last few weeks now, so I'm find the stuff with the Revolution and Founding Fathers even more fun than usual.
I do agree with you guys, that the way they handled the whole to destroy the Fenestella or not was kind of annoying. I wouldn't have thought it would have been that hard to find a way to kill the Reavers without blowing the whole Fenestella up.
I'm glad that Frank being evil isn't entirely his fault. I really hope they find away to get rid of the evil part of Frank.
Hmmm, so they're hinting that Katrina is going to side with Henry. Next week's finale should be very interesting. I wonder if they would have her actually go full on evil and kill her?
EDIT: I'm a big fan of White Collar, so I got a kick out of seeing Sharif Atkins on here. I hope he sticks around for a while, I like him and the character seems pretty cool.
 
I didn't quite recognize Atkins at first. I thought it was him, but the longer hair and beard threw me, and his voice seemed deeper than I remembered (probably because he was playing a different character, though I suppose it could've been due to different audio mixing or something).
 
^ Didn't recognize him either. White Collar slipped off my watch list so I haven't seen it's final season, but here, he seems to had lost a good deal of weight. In his face as well as body. The voice sounded familiar, but his appearance was so different-youthful, that I finally had to check IMDB to see who it was.
 
I had mixed feelings about this one. I loved the EJH and the Fenestella, but what a waste to destroy them. They could have found a way to wipe out the creatures without blowing everything up. As others have noted, the danger was not imminent-- they had been down there for hundreds of years. I hope they're at least smart enough to go back down and see if anything is salvageable.

I did get a kick out of it being beneath Sleepy Hollow. Everything in American history seems to have happened in or under Sleepy Hollow. :rommie:

I did get the impression that the reporter was supposed to be the new annoying supporting character. But with only two episodes left in the season, he won't get much of a chance.
 
It was cool how they recreated the pilot's opening scenes with Abbie in hte past complete with a violin version of Sympathy For The Devil. But overall I'm really tired of Katrina and realy Henry too, but maybe we've seen the last of Henry. Still this ep. feels like the start of them setting a reset button, if Abbie is able to change history that is.
 
Man, Katrina's turn to the dark side was rather abrupt. This whole "champion of the witch race" motivation came out of nowhere, without any real setup. This season has not been well-paced.

And she actually called non-witches "mortals?" The writers have been watching too much Bewitched. Do you suppose this is how it happened when Samantha finally got tired of Darrin's crap?

As soon as Abby woke up in the woods, I guessed that she'd gone back in time, and realized that was why they opened with that conversation about time travel fiction. But I like how they paralleled Abby's discovery with Ichabod's in the pilot, with her nearly being run over in the road.
 
I was glad that Ichabod wasn't already bleeding to death in the hospital when we first see colonial Katrina.

Maybe being back there with other "good" witches will help her see the light before its too late.

Lets hope Abbie finds a way into the EJH's library to steal a few good books before she returns back to the future. :bolian:
 
^^ Agreed... Wonder if that version is available anywhere... Maybe on some "Strings for the Stones" compilation, perhaps..
 
i can't say i like this turn for Katrina. the character has problems, but i was hopeful they would avoid going down the evil witch road.
 
I don't mind Katrina going evil if it finally makes her interesting. She's been kind of a fifth wheel all season. Being the Big Bad gives her something to do.
