Sleepy Hollow Season 2 Discussion

I dated a girl from Yonkers several years ago and we use to goto Sleepy Hallow all the time. It's a short drive up Route 9, we would often eat at the restaurant in the Castle on the Hudson in Tarrytown. Sleepy Hallow is a cool little town, if you are ever in the vicinity I high recommend a visit. They do have a huge revolutionary war re-enactment there. I went several times with friends.

No, it would be a rumor if I claimed that they actually were doing that. I was simply expressing a concern that it might be the case.

And neither Irving nor Jenny is a "minor sideline character." Orlando Jones has been a main-title regular since the start of the series, and Lyndie Greenwood was a major player in season 1 and has been upgraded to a main-title regular this season. Yet both of them are getting less screen time recently than Hawley, who's nominally just a guest star, and whose role in the series seems rather redundant at this point since, as others have pointed out, he's basically just filling the role Jenny was already filling perfectly well.

Agreed. I really miss seeing Jenny and Irving. They both have far more presence than Fake!NathanDrake.

I share your concern. And a friend of mine emailed me a tweet by Orlando Jones where he (sarcastically?) commented something to the effect of "what's happening? Do the networks have a white-boy quota they need to fill?"

So, clearly, this has been noted by more people than just us.

I think Hawley could have been an interesting character. A modern day rogue, running around in the same circles and already had a relationship with Jenny. However it came down to very poor casting. So I have to blame the producers. Sure, the actor is very good looking but that is all he is. He has the personality of a cracker, just dull. He seams more surfer then rogue. This character thankfully hasn't to date pulled down the show to much but he is wearing a little thin.

Sleepy Hollow, not Sleepy Hallow. Sleepy Hollow, Sleepy Hollow, Sleepy Hollow.

Yes. I almost wish that Joe Corbin knew the truth about his father's investigations and took up the role that Hawley now has. He could have disappointed his dad by his "career" choice, but still been of use in the occasional bad situation. He could have known both of the Mills sisters (having grown up with them), and had a relationship with Jenny. Only Jenny, because that stupid, overused love triangle trope is...stupid...and overused.

Yes, I like Joe. Hawley, not so much.

Katia Winter has nice abs. :) But for an actress, that goes without saying.

Katrina almost gave birth to Molloch! As Abbie stated, it was too close for comfort. I liked how the duo enlisted Captain Reyes' help to defeat Henry's minions without telling her the whole truth about the apocalypse, which she wouldn't have bought anyway.

When Crane briefly touched Henry's hand, he caught a glimpse of Henry's past. I always felt sorry for Henry/Jeremy, who had a rough time growing up without his parents and knowing only cruelty and despair. I understand his anger toward Ichabod and Katrina, but being a servant to Molloch is something else. Can he be redeemed?

I would love for them to do a Katrina/Abbie team-up maybe have them try to save Crane and Abbie once again trying to explain the 21st century to someone from the 18th century...

Also they should have Crane and Hawley start a Bromance..

This episode did not engage me at all.

The show that I loved had Abby, Crane, Jenny and Irving at its heart. Ghost (or flashback) Corbin and Demon Andy were used sparingly and effectively. I cared about every one of these characters.

I want this show to find its heart again. I really don't care about the Crane family drama.

More Jenny! Get Irving out of the psyc ward and make him useful again. Use Henry sparingly so he has more effect. Use Katrina less (or make her evil, that way she would at least be interesting instead of the constant damsel in distress).

I can't really think of anything positive to say about this episode, so I'll stop now.

i didn't care for this episode either. but then, i don't care for demon baby stuff to begin with. i don't mind a little Crane family drama...but yeah, i'd like to see more Jenny and Irving.

I'm terrible. I was actually rooting for Katrina to die. I want to see Ichabod and Abbie to hook up.

I actually didn't mind this one. I think I'm one of the few people who doesn't mind Katrina, so I enjoyed getting an episode with more of her in it. I was glad we finally got her away from Abraham and Henry. It'll very interesting to see what kind of a dynamic develops now that Katrina probably going to be with Ichabod.
I do agree with you guys about the frustrating lack of Jenny and Irving though. I was really happy when they announced that the actress who plays Jenny was going to be a regular, because I thought she would be in a lot more of the show. So far that hasn't really been the case.
I'm curious what the significance of Henry having that read energy at the end will be. I'm guess at this point that it is Mulloch or at least some of kind of demonic energy tied to him.

As always, the dialogue between Abbie and Ichabod was the high point; I loved the conversation in the polling place.

It will be interesting to see how things work now that Katrina is away from HH. How will she get along with Abbie? And how will Abbie deal with having to babysit two anachronisms? :rommie: I wonder if it will be an awkward triangle, with Ichabod and Katrina having been apart for so long, and him working so closely with Abbie the whole time.

I really wish they would do more with Captain Irving; he was really cool toward the end of last season. I didn't really like Jenny at first, but I kind of got used to her.

Having the horseman headed is disturbing me. Maybe it humanizes him too much. When he's rampaging he's a force of (super)nature. When he's headed and mooning after Katrina it's kinda pathetic. You're a horseman of the apocalypse ferchrissake, quit whining.

That's what I was afraid of. I haven't seen this episode yet, but season 2 has been pretty poor so far. I'm not sure what happened behind the scenes, but the show has seriously lost its spark that made it so much fun last season. It's just a slog now.

I think I'll take a hiatus from this show, but I'll keep an eye on this thread and pick it up again if the quality returns to the levels of season 1.
