SJA 2X01/02: The Last Sontaran

i thought it was good, the Last Sontaran was very well armed however, control devices, invisibility clock, the drones, that fancy new helmet. Luke as ever is a genius, and Mr Smith is actually quite funny, its all good.
next week Rani, im sure the show will do just fine without Maria, you just have to look at todays episodes to see how much the show belongs to Luke & Cylde.

I thought both parts were good. It was a bit stupid to just let the Sontaran go, but I guess that's the whole point about the difference between Sarah Jane and the other guys,

yes that is how she operates, and the way it ended, if she took his life it would have been in cold blood, not the heat of the battle.
That said im no big expert on Sontaran culture, but she has shamed him, by both defeating him, and not letting him die in a gloriously death in battle.

it does, dont think I ever said it didnt, and I think its common knowledge what happens in the finale.
A wonderfully touching farewell story for Maria. Once again, I love Alan and how he insisted including Maria in the decision to move to America instead of saying "We're moving to America, end of story."
As for the Sontaran story, it was a lot of fun and of course I loved the references to Sarah Jane's encounters with the Sontarans in her past (but one of them being in their future) as seen in The Time Warrior and The Sontaran Experiment. I was also reminded of The Hand of Fear when Sarah Jane talked to Maria about leaving in part one.
I was a bit surprised that there wasn't any reference to "The Stolen Earth"/"Journey's End" and Sarah Jane and Luke's involvement, but I guess you can't have everything.
I look forward to next week's.

Still, a lot of people know their sexuality at 15. But I'm not sure that'd be the way the beeb want to go with this.
Hurrah for iPlayer! Watched both parts of this last night and really enjoyed it (but then I do love Sontarans) the quips from both Kagh and Clyde were brilliant. Half forms! And I love the references to sontarans experiments.
I did have a huge disappointment, the first time the Professor came in under Kagh's control I actually thought he was a Rutan! That'd be a cool story, Earth invaded by Rutans with a Sontaran as a (semi) good guy.
]Next time we see Sontarans though I do hope they get to be a little tougher and actually do some on screen slaughtering! Their rep needs upping after being defeated by Maria's mum.
