Not sure what you mean ... Anthony (Clyde) is 21, and they're just so cute together. lol
I hadnt realised he was actually 21, still he isnt playing a 21 yrs old.
Still, a lot of people know their sexuality at 15. But I'm not sure that'd be the way the beeb want to go with this.
yes this does air on CBBC after all, I think any relationships are going to be fairly innocent, kissing but that would probaly be about it. More so now that CBBC is being aimed at an ever younger audience.

never mind them not talking about Daleks, how come everyone else Chrissie & the daughter, seem to have forgotten all about it as well. I mean the whole planet was moved, and people still don't think aliens exist.

I haven't seen it, but could it be possible that "The Stolen Earth"/"Journey's End" haven't happened yet relative to The Last Sontaran?

No.

Unless it happens in the six-week gap at the end of "TLS". But that would require Maria and her dad to go to Cornwall in the middle of planning an intercontinental move!

Maybe they were saying goodbye to a beloved aunt!

But of course it's okay to have kids drug their parents! :wtf:

:guffaw:you arnt wrong, I thought that was  but then I had just witnessed Chrissie take out a Sontaran with a pair of high heels, I was still in shock at that point, had only just recovered enough to lol at Alan, saying "its best this way we will never hear the end of it" or words to those effect, and thinking OMG its Donna all over again.

Yeah, that's kinda lame. If a large scale Dalek invasion doesn't convince earth people of alien life, I don't know what will.

There have been noticeable changes to Sarah Jane and co. since "The Stolen Earth"/"Journey's End".

Sarah Jane has a noticeably shorter haircut.

Mr. Smith has a new look. (He used to be all crystal-like and now he's lava lamp-ish).

Luke now calls Sarah Jane 'Mom'.

I thought Luke had been doing that since nearly the beginning?

And it's "Mum".

Jesus, Chrissy is in the inner circle.

"Quick Chrissy, Cybermen! Is that real gold leaf on your Manolos?"

Did any one think that it's a relief that Maria was not joining the cast of Kyle XY when she said that she would never meet a guy like Luke in the states?

GG - Could you please edit your post into something that makes sense? I've no idea what message you're trying to convey.

I spelt manolos wrong, but other than that it's all perfectly cogent.

Although some helpful hints.

The above me poster Hennesy said that Luke was now calling Sarah Jane "Mom" which is terribly American, which this show is not, and it's a completely different word from "Mum" almost considering one is possibly four syllables longer the other considering comparative regional dialects.

Chrissy is Maria's mum who belted a Sontaran with a shoe and saved the day. A Manolo is a high end brand of woman's shoe often mentioned in Sex and the City. Classic Cybermen are allergic to gold in most forms. Ace with a slighshot and gold coins from the 17th century during Silver Nemesis was just plain awesome.

Kyle XY is an American TV Show about a teen age boy grown in a tank that emerged fully formed with no belly button and quickly assimilated the full knowledge of humanity and expressed it well with his dizzying intellect, which is a remarkably similar origin and skillset to Luke. Maria and her dad are going to America. She said she would never meet any one like Luke in America. She must be planning to avoid Kyle XY.

:vulcan:

another brillant post form you today

My mistake on the 'mum' thing. Yes, that was terribly American of me.

But I believe for series one (notice how I used 'series' instead of 'season' ~ see I'm catching on ;)) Luke addressed Sarah Jane by her name. I think Clyde may have even brought it up at one point.

Near the end of "Journey's End" Luke discoverers Sarah Jane has survived, and without realizing it calls her 'Mum' for the first time. That's why SJ started jumping up and down saying "Yes, Yes! Yes!"

Oh man, problems problems. I was assuming that the Dalek invasion occured diring that five week gap near the end of the story. But then we have the problem of Luke called SJ 'Mum' through most of the episode.

The only hope us obsessivecontinuity types have is that he never actually called her that to her face during the episode. Time for another viewing I guess.

Other than that nitpick, I rather liked the episode. Obviously Sontarans pack a lot of gear into those little ships.

And next week. Evil clowns! Yay!

It's been a while since I saw Season One, but I am 95% certain that Luke has previously referred to Sarah as "mum."

I had this odd resonance every time Lucy Skinner would say her name. I googled and found nothing, but eventually it dawned on me that I was thinking of Lucy Spiller from Dirt played by that freak from Friends. Rather than becoming unglamoured in his attraction for Lucy when he found out that she was a automated, you'd have to wonder if he wouldn't have gotten more traction in asking the Sontaran for her remote control?

Which would have been incredibly 1960s of him.

Luke and Clyde better be getting into a "hand holding" triangle with the new girl. Romantic friction makes for excellent story telling.

Okay, I finally got to watch this, and aside from it being a pleasant surprise that it was actually on, I thought it was a good episode.

Some quick notes:

- continuity with Sarah Jane's previous Sontaran encounters
- Sontaran spacecraft, flashbacks to the Doctor Who episodes
- mum <- 'nuff said

Is it just me, or does Sarah Jane's outfit in the episode remind me of the Doctor? Maybe it's just her sparring with the Sontaran that does it, but it's a good vibe. Her non-emotionalness when Maria first said she was leaving reminded me of the First Doctor at the end of The Massacre of St Bartholomew's Eve when he goes through the list of companions he's had and says that they all leave eventually.

^ I thought that as well, of course she is in the role of the Doctor in this series, her own companions, her own sonic device, she has the alien knowledge, however Mr Smith does help with that sometimes.

She was dressed up like a pony girl, y'know one of those nobles that go out fox hunting. :) Romana wore a more extreme fox hunting get up in the Horns of the Nimon which was just delicious and I thought was more intoxicating than her school girl costume from City of Death.
