Siskos prejudice?

I am laughing at most people in here. Its like you all have some rabies and are so defensive and acidic. Yeesh it's hard to have a discussion in a serious capacity around here. You are not cool in your words or wise and I did not challenge this and sounds pretty uniform in pretentiousness of DS9 fans and their obsession with "realism." I am talking about the delivery and how it came off. I know your type. Legends in your own minds. I sometimes wonder if this is actually a discussion forum. The obvious serious discussion if Data is a sexist aside - refreshing.

Should not expect anything different from a forum that denied the actor who played Garaks words that he played him gay because they did not respect the actors, lol. Also, I don't look at clips of proof. I don't mean to judge everyone. Oh, and realism it's also about-facing opposing viewpoints that you don't like. The real realism would be Nog feeling like he was just talked down to by a racist. ST loves allegories. Go there.

YEESH.
Yeesh indeed. What exactly are you on about? All I said was the show needs to create drama and I get some screed about DS9 fans in response.

This? I don't know but that is kind of what I mean. Also, "Its almost if " I think was a dead giveaway. To answer your first question. And the exclamation point.

I guess you don't like sarcasm or something? Yeah, I do that. Sorry.

I'm still lost as to the screed. I don't visit the DS9 forum very often, so I'm unsure of the past "crimes" committed here.

Did you not notice the line I separated between you and what else I am trying to address? Others will probably get what I am saying. Sorry. "Screed"(new hip slang or short cut because it would be too many words?) twice means I was not worth listening to and tedious right? If you were convincing me I was overreacting you failed. The whole hand waving people for talking too much on nerd forums is hilarious. Something Trekkies do.They made fun of you all the time in TBBT. I don't even like that show. But it's true.

PS. I love John Lennon. He had the right idea.

I saw two rambles separated by a space. Some broad generalizations in both. Not really clear which one is directed to me specifically. I only popped in because the title "Sisko's Prejudice" intrigued me. Sisko's attitude towards the Ferengi is an interest topic.

Never once claimed you or anyone else is "overreacting." I've never been one to accuse someone of "talking too much" on these forums. Talk all you want, just don't be tedious.

TBBT is great. A lot of truth there. Love being able to laugh at myself.

I am laughing at most people in here. So defensive and patronizing.
Best to just reply to specific people. When you throw a cruddy blanket over the whole thing you're liable to rile up some who didn't actually disagree with you.

I know who didn't. I am very sure I know. Read the thread again. Oh, and how rude. Also talking to all these people would be too much time and too many words. And basically pointless. I do not wish to put myself through that.

Well, that's very rude. Perhaps I hit a sore spot.
How is what I said rude? I'm simply saying that if you have a problem with someone, address them directly instead of semi-insulting the whole forum.

I'm not really sure what sore spot you think I might have on the matter.

Go back and read what I said. I specifically said I was not judging everyone. My exact words. I think you did not realize that in your in head and got it twisted. Or that I was stupid. Or would play stupid.

Here on page one:

"Should not expect anything different from a forum that denied the actor who played Garak's words that he played him gay because they did not respect the actors, lol. Also, I don't look at clips of proof. Paraphrasing. I don't mean to judge everyone. Oh, and realism it's also about-facing opposing viewpoints that you don't like. The real realism would be Nog feeling like he was just talked down to by a racist. ST loves allegories. Go there."

Maybe you don't mean to do it, but...

I know what I said. I don't have amnesia.

Well, it's nice you are speaking for everyone, As I said I responded fine to some on the first page and then it took a bad turn as usual. I even tried to understand other points. Go back and read it. Let me just say this. Out of all the forums I have ever been to this is the one that usually (not always) seems to end up this way. I have no problem anywhere else like this. Also, I had other threads with differing opinions, and I can tell the difference. Also, I don't even think you quite understand yourself sometimes. I don't know what your stance still is on a certain subject in a thread of mine. Seemed pretty contradictory. I learned some rude new slang today by the same person that tried to say I misunderstood him/her. It's like if you use exact terms instead of say beating around the bush its bad. False politeness. Meh.

Maybe he was prejudiced but so what? Like what I like about TOS is that everyone on Earth learnt to get a long and that was about it. They were learning how to get on with the rest of the galaxy. Early TNG just assumed everyone in the future would automatically get along except when their values were different from the Federation. Look at how often TNG treated the Ferengi like jokes and Starfleet looked down on them. Picard made that comment in Farpoint about Ferengi eating people which to me feels a lot like talking about some culture eating cats and dogs. DS9 just went back to that TOS view of taking away the otherness of species, and them having their own values and culture respected. Look it's not necessarily happening in this scene but I feel there's a bit of it over the series

Oh.. there you go again. "Tedious" but not "overreacting?" How is that not insulting too? Glad you thought this would be an interesting topic. Too bad how it turned out.

I actually think that TBBT is a romanticized version of geeks.
