Unfortunately, you're not going to have much joy finding a name that's Irish and begins with a 'h', because initial 'h's don't occur much in Irish nouns unless there's a grammatical trigger. (Even then, there's complicated stuff with aspiration and lenition).

Unscientific anecdotal point of view for you:

I can see the problem with Harrison - you'll end up with a "Harry" which could have all sorts of negative teasing potential. If you went with Harris, you might like it a little better, and being shorter, it might be less likely to be shortened into a nickname.

I like Hudson, Haden, Hamilton, Heath, Houston, and Hyatt. The problem I'm seeing with names beginning with "H" is that the good ones are mostly two syllables, like Michael. First & middle name combinations that have the same number of syllables can sound less rhythmic than those with different. Thus, "Harrison Michael" sounds better than "Harris Michael," even though one might like the names better individually. If the accents come on different syllables, (for example AUDrey eLAINE), that can help.

So, I like best:

or, the original choice, Harrison Michael.

Well, I may not have any good "H" names that haven't been mentioned, but I do have a theory. I think that you can name your kid something completely odd/harsh sounding, as long as their initials can be shortened into a usable name. I know a kid named Eldrid. He goes by E.J.

Although, names that go well with the name Michael...

I like Benjamin, Cory, Jacob, Bradley, and John. If you want something Irish...well, you could go with what I've been told is the correct irish spelling of the name "Sean". Cian. And, if you go with a middle name starting with a "J", you can call him C.J. Just my pretty much useless $0.02.

Another vote for Henry. Mrs. Alpinemaps and I were going to have a hard time if Little Miss Alpinemaps had been a boy instead of a girl. We just couldn't come up with boys names. About the only one we agree on is Benjamin. I like Henry, though. That's the only H name I like.

Don't give in, though, but try to find something that you both like.
