Simple Question: Do You Like The Reboots?

Not really. Too action-heavy for me, too many shots of crewmen dying etc, civilian clothing looks too contemporary a lot of the time (more so in the first movie iirc). Don't like time travel stories etc.
That does not mean that I begrudge anybody their enjoyment of those movies however. I will just voice my opinion if the discussion comes to it.
I will also concede that some of the visuals are really nice when it comes to aliens and alien worlds, such as the planet at the start of ID with its red vegetation.

To me, meh equates to indifference and indifference != dislike or indecision. Vanilla ice cream is ice cream, so I don't dislike it per se, but it is never my first choice (or second or third or fourth, for that matter.) Vanilla ice cream is meh.

Yes, and to both movies. Not necessarily the best sci-fi movies of their respective years, but good fun nonetheless.
They aren't. There are currently 12 novels per year spread across all the different lines published, plus fan films.
Abrams is just the slice of the pie that gets the most recognition right now.
No, I generally don't like the filmmakers' decisions (thinking ST is only about Kirk and Spock (and at the very beginnings of their starship careers at that), having Kirk primarily rely on instinct and Spock become less Vulcan, the stories revolving around evil leaders, revenge motivations and attacks on Earth). New Spock was interesting at first but not as good in the sequel and having a similar but more convoluted story was really bad.
Incidentally, I liked Batman Begins and Casino Royale but not very much their sequels and dislike most other reboots.

I enjoyed Star Trek '09 but I absolutely HATED Into Darkness. I'm not especially hopeful for future movies in that continuity, so I voted "no." But honestly, "mixed" would be a better representation of my feelings.

That one fan film renegades looked pretty good. I'd like to get into the novels but it's a little overwhelming, I don't know where any of the characters are in the novel universe.

I loved both films, so the answer is "YES."
What exactly is Star Trek about? Any choice of characters would've precluded other characters from being the focus of the movies.
ABSOLUTELY. It's amazing some people say they would be happy if Star Trek was dead.
I like the new actors, and they've had some great moments, and I think the flashy new Enterprise is fine, but serious problems of plot and tone make the movies problematic as a whole (for me). Really hoping ST3 works.
