Well, who says Spock isn't in for a healthy threesome? We already know he wasn't (or ignored the fact that he was) betrothed.I do think Yeoman Rand and Nurse Chapel should be introduced..
It would make things interesting given Rand and Chapel were love interests for Kirk and Spock..
Now that role is filled by Uhura.

That's right! Women who are doctors and lawyers and everything else, who aren't afraid to like men for their actions a well as their bodies.
Star Trek is about hope for the future..
Thank you Abrams for showing us a future where feminists no longer exist :P
Damn, you hit the nail right on the head! Thank you Abrams, for showing a better tomorrow. With no feminists. Where people can look good and be strong and intelligent.
Am I supposed to be insulted??? LOL LOL you got the wrong one here pal....
First I try write better for you... Please note word: try...not guarantee...just try. Sorry you consider male brain limited, I not do that.
But if you can't take my broken english then don't read or respond to my posts...and if it's so bothersome you can go further and put me on ignore so you dont' have to read my butchering of your precious english language.I wish there was a kiss emoticon...
What I MEANT was perhaps men can't relate as much to what the blogger was saying because..... well...because you're men and you haven't been thru life as a woman...do I need to explain this further? Oh I do...? So if you were black and you were bitching about racism maybe I couldn't relate to you because I'm a white woman and I haven't been thru the exp. of being black.
I didn't read the whole article from the blogger...and you haven't read the whole thread (which is understandable) because I explained what I mean by affair....I mean please! I just don't like the fact that it's with spock and right away from the jump she's involved...sorry but there was so much going on in this movie that we really didn't need that little subplot at all. Are you honestly going to tell me the movie would of suffered without it? They wanna introduce it next go round fine...this movie was not the time to do it!
Squiggy, you want names? You're going to have to work harder.![]()
2. Put Uhura in command for a scene. If Chekov can be temporarily in command, Uhura can be too. I know we've already had Janeway, but Nichelle Nichols has made it very well known that Uhura was, at one point, slated to be put in command for a scene and the network vetoed. That would be an actual meaningful and significant homage, unlike Sulu leaving the parking break on. *rolls eyes*
It was have been ridiculous for Uhura to get involved in that bar fight. She's way too smart for that.
Ridiculous like those cringe-worthy scenes of Kira beating up guys twice as big by using her fists. Come on, in a fist fight, Damar would have knocked her out in a heartbeat.
And now we have an Uhura who could take command. In this version, she's easily the best person to take over command if Spock and Kirk are out of action. I know they have Sulu taking over in the movie, but outside of a situation of immediate combat I'd pick Uhura.

That's what she said! Wait...
It's not spelling, it's grammar. I find that people take one more seriously when one applies the rules of grammar in correct fashion. As a feminist, you should know how hard it is, sometimes, for us to get taken seriously.
Seriously, lol and 111!1 and whatever doesn't help if you don't want people to patronise you. And most replies to your posts make sense, so people do have something to say on this, men and women alike.
People need to get off the spelling and grammer ooooooooooops grammar dick
Just a heads up for you...we're on a message board...so this isn't reality..I'm taken seriously just fine thank you ma'am....
Another thing...I don't really care what people think about me...I'm very secure w/ myself so they...you...can talk whatever shit you like and it doesn't bother me. But I will speak up whenever and however I like...sorry if it doesn't reflect well on you. So maybe I should get myself in a mini skirt so I can be taken seriously LOL. And since you don't like it...one more LOL.
I have a wicked sense of humor and very sarcastic... I love to joke around.....I'll use LOL whenever I see fit. I also use it to indicate that what I'm saying in fact a joke and/or being sarcastic.
Also you have gotten off topic with this post...so please stick to the topic...

In that department, of all of Star Trek's female characters that's where Uhura was perhaps the most realistic.
Remember, Kira didn't just beat up guys twice her size, she did it while only days from her due date.
It was have been ridiculous for Uhura to get involved in that bar fight. She's way too smart for that.
And Uhura has NEVER been a fighter, shes a com officer.
