Re: 'Sigh'...A feminist review of Star Trek XII

LOL I'm not jealous because it's fiction...I just threw that my man thing in their for dramatic effect.
Besides...Kirk has been and will always be my main man. Noted that a friendship like that doesn't happen overnight...but will it...can it.... happen "the same way" if Uhura's involved? Oh and PS I'm not marking the movie down -- I loved it and saw it twice, which I've never done before -- I just don't care for this aspect of the film and I stand by my statement that it was unnecessary and the plot would not have suffered one bit if they omitted you. You on the other hand claim the movie would be a failure if they took out this uhura/spock thing -- you really stand by that statement....Really?

No, I'm saying it would have been less good.

Oh, and Spock and Kirk seemed pretty damned chummy at the end.

Ok so we'll just disagree on that -- which we've pretty much established already so we are clear. I just really hope they're using protection...we really don't need any offspring muddling up the story any further.

Yeah, yeah they're chummy......but....you know how relationships go...they're friggin great in the beginning but pretty soon Uhura's gonna be complainin that Spock's not coming to dinner on time and he spends so much time on the bridge and Uhura has to do all the cabin cleaning... and still do all her duties and you don't spend enough time with me..and "we don't talk anymore".....wah wah wah....you know how demanding women can be...so yeah she'll be coming between them. :p :p

Uhura doing all the cleaning ? Have you watched Star Trek ? This is Spock we're talking about. He knows how many dust particles there are in his quarters at any given moment.

No I haven't seen Trek...I'm really not much of a fan...isn't this the rich millionaires message board?

Nothing wrong with showing a little "leg." Just because there was no prominent females roles in the movie doesn't make it sexist. As a matter of fact, I often found the influx of female admirals in TNG and DS9 tiresome. Plus there was plenty of strong females roles in DS9 which was nice.

I think the commenter might have a valid point. She needs show me her rack for me to be sure though.

Be careful. THAT'S why I'm not allowed at Sundance anymore.

Well. THAT. And the cherry bomb in Redford's pants.

I sure hope nUhura starts sporting some of those huge TOS dos. If she was inclined to do any more at the bar, she could have pulled a phaser out of her hair, sort of like Pam Grier at the end of Foxy Brown. Foxy did have her "black belt in bar stools".

Re: 'Sigh'...A feminist review of Star Trek XII

but how glad are you that the new kirk kept his shirt on this time?
