Shouldn't all the Discovery characters grow neck beards?

Beard ignorance in our society NEEDS to be addressed.

Which hopefully this season of Disco will help in this regard. Hey, Star Trek is tackling relevant social issues again! Future generations will remember this the same way we remember things like the first interracial kiss or A Private Little War's commentary on Vietnam or whatever the hell was going on The Omega Glory.

I have a beard essentially the same as Riker's, and a dickweasel at my university once referred to it as a 'neckbeard.' It's decidedly not just on my neck. I was more annoyed at his misapplied insult than his attempt to get under my skin.

The term "neckbeard" is usually applied not so much about the style of facial hair itself, but more as a comment on the stereotype of a socially awkward, pretentious, condescending male nerd.

I think people with Neckbeards look kinda Amish? If they put on a round hat and dark clothes then they look totally Amish.
