Should TNG's Unnatural Selection be wiped from continuity?

Only decades after Space Seed and Khan, you have a Federation laboratory that's breeding super-children with all these crazy abilities.

And nobody seems to give a damn.

It would be worthy, at least, of some follow-up explaining it.
It was a season 2 episode, so it was relatively early in Trek's history. Obviously they still hadn't established the Federation's policy on genetic engineering at that point in the series.

If every Trek episode with at least one thing that could be seen as a continuity error (including things like someone not tapping their combadge while speaking to another character) was declared non-canonical, I doubt there would be many left.
