Should there be mentions of Archer's enterprise?

.

An off-hand reference, like lets say they visit a system seen/mentioned in ENT would be fine something like 'The last ship to survery this system was the NX-01'. Though that would seem weird considering it would have been 100 years ago.

That would actually fit with TOS era, though.

A Taste of Armageddon had a 50 year gap between Valiant and Enterprise visiting Eminiar

A Piece of the Action had 100 years between Horizon and Enterprise visiting Sigma Iotia

Return of the Archons had 100 years between Archon and Enterprise visiting Beta III

No it wasn't. It was just in that single episode.

Plus in the episode Riker calls it a Historic Holoprogram
Which means some of the episodes might have been exaggerations due to the holoprogram :)
Enterprise was beyond garbage and thankfully written ultimately as just a holoprogram for a leading character to avoid stress. Thankfully.

Unlike JJ Trek...
JJ Trek is an alternate timeline so it can't pollute the sacred "Prime Timeline" anymore.

If TPTB have any respect for trek canon, then they would be wise to ignore enterprise and its revisionist nonesense.

Only the final episode was a holoprogram, nothing else

If they have any respect for the canon they should reference it. It is part of the franchise, ignoring it would do it a disservice.

Enterprise has a lot less continuity errors then people think

CBS owns the show and they consider Enterprise canon, so Discovery can't just pretend it didn't happen.

You know how Enterprise features prominent footage of Alan Shepard in the opening credits? Discovery should feature Jonathan Archer and the NX-01 in a similar fashion. "It's been a long road, getting from there to here..."
And they should update and reuse that theme song, too. I LOVE that song.

Why not? If ships and people can travel to/from the Mirror Universe, and Worf can hop through multiple Parallels, then why can't they interact?:devil:
the last episode of STD will reveal the show to be one of Will's holodeck sessions

it will be a true valentine to the fans
Yeah... no. Once was a bad idea, a mistake. A terrible mistake, but ultimately forgivable as a human failing.

Twice, on the other hand... well, I'm not saying I'd advocate for a hit squad. I'm just saying I wouldn't speak against sending a hit squad. ;)

Yeah why not, mention Captain X saw old Commander Charles 'Trip' Tucker III working behind the bar, in a strip club called 'The Elvis' on Risa with an old Vulcan lady, who looked liked Ambassador T'Pol.

I think 100 years would be too soon for Xindi Membership in the Federation IMO.
Why not, less than 20 years after WW2 West Germany and Japan were allies of their former enemies. France and West Germany formed the EEC which became the European Union (ok maybe not the best example since we Brits are leaving lol)

I think they're hoping for a bigger audience than "people who remember Enterprise".

CBS would be delighted if Discovery posts similar numbers to ENT. The service they plan to air it on doesn't even have enough subscribers for it to beat ENT in the ratings yet ;)

Oh and in today's market, it's unlikely as hell that Discovery's premiere gets anywhere near the rating ENT's got

The Vulcans and the Andorians went from gleefully gunning each other down to Federation buddies in only a few years.

The Xindi could have joined the Federation membership right after the first batch of half dozen.

Well the Andorians were not responsible for the deaths of 7 Million Humans. It would probably be a few generations before that wound is healed.
