But much like anal bleaching; writing, directing, and producing should be left to the professionals.

I thought that Axanar was great.

All Trek BBS members should come together to make an episode of Star Trek. What could possibly go wrong?

Some fans have very good taste and could run a very good show.

Most fans have bad taste and would run a bad show.

Some non-fans have very good taste and can run a good show.

J.J. Abrams: I was never a huge fan of 'Star Trek'
" 'Star Trek' I was never a huge fan of, actually, growing up," he confessed. "But I came to love it working on it."

As for Abrams' next big project, directing another highly anticipated sci-fi sequel, "Star Wars: Episode 7," it won't take any work to warm up to that one.

" 'Star Wars' is something I really did love as a kid," he shared.

I mean, I don't dislike Axanar, but, like... you do realize it's not actually telling a story, right? Ultimately Axanar is just a series of documentary-style vignettes that don't amount to an actual narrative.
