Should the Borg ever appear in another Star Trek series again?

Yes, I would love to an episode where the Borg are just rampaging through a ship or colony. There is no reasoning with them, there are no monologues, just trying to endure a relentless force. And with modern FX you could do some interesting things with implants, like replace a drone's jaw, or half their head with cybernetic devices.

Not that Star Trek is usually about rampaging, but SNW already has the Gorn rampaging through etc etc. Why would we need a less interesting version of a villain that's been done to death?

Honestly my first thought would be "Oh GOD not the Borg AGAIN". My second thought would be the exact same. And then the third, too. And then I'd think "I'm definitely gonna skip this one".

So it's a no from me, lol.

SHOULD we? No.

Will we? Most likely at some point. In some fashion. Not the TNG/VOY Borg though. Either something with the Jurati Collective or something else.

Nothing should be off limits in Trek as long as the idea is good, and the only way to know is to try. I think Voyager and Picard should have used them less to give them more meaning, but which stories would you take them out of? Look people said the Borg were overplayed back in 2003 and should never have been on Enterprise and then "Regeneration" delivered for my money one of the best Borg episodes ever.

Yep. Trek Lit went way down hill when they decided to do away with them. They are one of the few bits of Trek lore that still somewhat connected to reality, with us seeing AI as an enemy.

Honestly surprised that they don’t have a Borg student in Starfleet Academy. Would’ve been better than the Jem’Hadar.

I'm sure they'll have some place in SFA, so saying no wont matter, but after how messed up they were by season 3 of PIC.. no.

IF they come up with an interesting story that ISN'T a rehash of "Mustache twirling evil Borg Queen wants to assimilate the Universe" - which except for perhaps two occasions has been every Borg story since ST: First Contact (and if you accept the retcon at the start of ST:FC - since TNG's Best Of Both Worlds.)

Three seasons of Borg on PICARD honestly made me NEVER want to see them again in Star Trek, but if someone can do a new/interesting story angle, sure.

I haven't watched Picard, but I know enough about it to know that I want the Jurati!Borg to either get referenced or to physically reappear.
Thinking of the "Well, maybe him" gag in Dracula: Dead and Loving It. Which I invoked myself, when I noticed that Match Game was returning to TV: My first thought was, "Who could possibly replace Gene Rayburn," and then I found out that Martin Short was hosting: "Well, maybe him."

"Jurati Borg"
"Well maybe them."

I would only want to see The Borg as part of the reboot film universe with TNG. I always liked the idea of a TNG reboot movie having them have a background villian like in season 1's The Neutral Zone where there actions are being investigated causing tensions between Federation/Romulans and Klingons for me - I would even have Q in the film testing us like he did in the show to see if we are the savages he claims goading us into attack over investigation.

Then the 2nd film would have them as the villian - make them scary AF please.

I also wouldn't mind a limited mini series showing the Borg origin - I know it may be better never to go into that detail but it would make an interesting streaming show if done correct. A species trying to better themselves ending with there destruction as there creation grows beyond there control. A Sci Fi horror story I guess when you boil it down.

The Borg should be used sparingly, in order to maintain intrigue, mystery and a level of deep fear and peril within the audience should they appear in a future show.

If it’s to explore the Borg homeworld and the tens of trillions of dead drones and processing what Admiral Janeway actually did in “Endgame”, that’s okay.

If it’s to expore the origins of the Borg Queen and why the Borg went from assimilating technology and having babies to assimilating people to repoduce, and that there’s been some longstanding internal struggle between the Queen and the Collective, that’s okay. Maybe explore the idea of the Romulans creating the Borg too, while we're at it.

If it’s to explore the Jurati Collective (should really be called the Jurati Cooperative), Seven of Nine and her “collective” on the Ent-G, the Xbs post-PIC, and Coppelius as a shore leave planet for Xbs (and other synthetic life), and even a possible resurrection on Unimatrix Zero that’s okay.

If Hugh and Icheb are resurrected and made to be Travelers with Wesley Crusher, I’m fine with that too.

Even as a faction in the Temporal Wars, exploration of the Borg is okay. Though they do not seem to be around post-Burn.

IDC about the Borg as a threat anymore. The only place they could be a threat is the Kelvinverse, or something Temporal Wars related.
