Should season 2 have a new title sequence?

Now I don’t hate the current DISCO title sequence, but then I came across this fan made trailer and I genuinely prefer it.

Would DISCO benefit from a more traditional title sequence?

What kind of title sequence would you like to see?

Do we even need a title sequence?

This was basically Voyager's and Enterprise's title sequences combined. And the music used sounds like the on hold music for an insurance company or something. No thanks.

I like Discovery main titles for the fact that it is different from what came before.

I really like the visual style of the season one title sequence but I think they should change some imagery (the focus on props is odd) and I don't like the music. I would prefer a more energetic and melodic theme. So I hope they will change especially the second half of the titel sequence.

There is a lot to be said for tradition; it projects continuity.

Let's have a proper Star Trek title sequence instead of some meaningless pretentious-artistic images.

Maybe bring back the TOS-style ending credits too, for nostalgia.

The TOS-style ending credits didn't get further than TOS, so much for tradition and projecting continuity. Star Trek: Enterprise didn't have an instrumental theme song and instead showed progression of humanity instead of the starship Enterprise.

Discovery isn't breaking continuity, with its theme and the plot - but lets just stick with the theme for this thread.

The images actually do have to do with the story. I majored in Communication Studies with a Concentration in Mass Media and one paper I had to do in college was on mis-en-scene. I had to spend three pages talking about the symbolism of a frame of footage in a film and what it represented. 95% of what I wrote was total bullshit, but I made it sound good and backed everything up... so I got an A.

I'm not going to pull a lawman but take my word for it: when you see the communicator, the phaser, the bat'leth, and the Discovery travelling through what looks like all kinds of things, it represents different parts of the story. They symbolize specific plot points.

So, yeah, I think they should change up some of the images next season.
