Should Paramount digitally alter the TOS Enterprise?

Besides, the menus are of the overanimated clunky variety and the authoring doesn’t include saving the playback position. I wish they’d do a proper 2020s release making TOS-R nothing more than an extra.
Yeah, I hate that blu-rays have to have the bookmark function built in, and various shows were put on BD without it.
In the "old" days of DVD, my DVD player could save my spot on any disc I played, since it was a feature of the player and not dependent on a function of the disc.

How can that be, when Star Trek: Enterprise uses the same exact aesthetic from TOS for "In a Mirror, Darkly" during the parts with the USS Defiant? And, in the very end of "These Are the Voyages..." it shows the TOS Enterprise (from the original timeline).
There isn't enough strong voices who will put CBS to task on these retcons. I can only hope another Executive in charge of the franchise can restore what's done... someday.

They're not ignoring the TOS Design completely. We even saw it in DSC Season 2.

Plus any merchandise still labelled as 'The Original Series' I.E. Books/Comics/Shirts. Will still use the TOS Designs in the art work.

I now wish it had never been done at all.
I believe that's one of the reasons why they didn't touch TNG as much.

I’d prefer the reverse and have them remove the Discoprise and insert the Enterprise.
I wonder how hard that would be? for exteriors it's all digital, so nothing has to be removed/covered over, just delete and replace. interiors (bridge, etc.) would be much harder.

The reality of a retcon sometimes is that we have to fill in those gaps ourselves in our own heads. Going back and changing the past to fit the present is pointless, the past looks like the past, but the truth is that we just have to accept that the TOS Enterprise always looked that way, that the newer revision simply shows the old ship in more detail than it was seen before, even if we are all know there are literally actual design changes.

I still want to see the new lineup chart, especially since now it seems the -D and the -E are basically unchanged, so where is that hard cutoff? The redesign/refit is also Disco with tweaks, but then we get the Enterprise-B as we know it (going from roughly 450 to 470 meters)? Or would it only seem that way but actually include all kinds of changes to the interior?

And yes, I'm a huge nerd. It's a slow day here at work.

Did they replace Kirstie Alley in ST II with CGI images of Robin Curtis from ST III and IV? Reshape her eyebrows? Change her eye colour?

Nope. No need. The new Enterprise is merely a change of actor playing the role of Kirk's leading lady.

But if they had the technology at the time to make a CGI Robin Curtis, would they have done it? ;)

Don't mince words, Bones, tell me how you really feel :D

I wouldn't mind the C getting a remake. I know it has a few fans but I always found the Ambassador class ungainly and ugly.

My feeling was that the D did look a little different in Picard? I mean, it's not a bottom up redesign, and it's just a dream, but something felt ever so slightly different about her?

I know Ten Forward is in the wrong place, but beyond that I just thought it looked like they'd made it a little more boxy?

I don't know if I'm imagining it or not though. Has anyone else discussed this yet?

To the original design that was discarded because of production cost limitations or something different entirely?

The hull was shiny, just like like Bender's metal ***. Which I'm 50/50 on because the shiny reflective hue did look pretty cool. But it's definitely not the 6' model with the pale blue/green patterning. (Dream sequence :D So it's 90/10 in its favor.)

So about Bender, the loveable action figure for kids*:
