I sometimes have a hard time figuring if Shatner's just pulling off an act, or if he's starting to lose possession of his faculties. He certainly rides the line here.

Considering that Conan and Shatner have a relationship going back many years, I am sure much of that was either planned, or them just screwing around. I highly doubt that Conan was offended by Shanter. The article linked earlier in this thread makes it seem 100x worse than it actually was.

Oooooh, a Daily Mail "journalist's" opinion of a friendship between two people they've never met, talking about something on a show they've never watched. I'm surprised they didn't find some way of blaming Eastern Europeans.

Sorry to be off topic, but in seeing all the tributes to Ed McMahon the last couple of days and not watching Leno or Conan, but do any of those host part open a curtain like Johnny C. did? There were some times it looked like he fumbled with the curtain a bit before Carson got out on stage.

It looks like the normal routine to me, nothing noteworthy or problematic. I think the article is way off base and missing the fact it was satire. That's the normal shtick.
