Sharing tears about DS9 !!!

Ok guys this thread is about how I've watched DS9 again from S1 to the last episode What You Leave Behind and it made me have a tear in my eye when I watched the last episode, I've always liked all the star trek series but I always feel that DS9 had the best characters of any series it also had some of the best and funny episodes of any series.

It also had some of the best sub characters of any series these characters with the main characters always felt real I always feel that the last episode was very touching on how the well loved characters we all loved was all wrapped up fantastic stuff.

On a conclusion I loved DS9 more the 2nd time round than before it really touched me.

I've just finished a complete run through of every episode too... started second week in July and finished on Sunday. the thing i noticed more this time around was whilst the show wasn't heavily arc driven at the start, lots of references are made throughout the first couple of seasons to events that took just just a couple of episodes earlier.

it's just a really well written, referenced and acted show. the cast are superb... don't know where to go from here though. i want to re-watch voyager as i haven't seen that since it ended in 2001 but i think i may have to watch the original series first as i prefer the actors/ characters. tough choices we have to make haha :)

I really love Deep Space Nine, so it's no wonder that it's brought me to tears.

I'm not sure how many times I've seen some of the episodes now, but I still get a lump in my throat twice during the show's run. Both are obvious really; The Visitor left me a blubbering idiot the first time I saw it, so that still has me under its spell. Then of course when the camera pulls away from Jake and Kira in What You Leave Behind... :( It was like a punch in the stomach the first time round, and still moved me the last time I saw it.

The thing that got me when DS9 ended, was that I felt like I knew these real people and they were leaving.

Sure, I'd miss TOS and TNG characters that I loved, but I always enjoyed them as such.

With DS9 it was the first time I felt like these were real people to me, not just characters, and they were all going away and I'd never hear about them again.

So there's that.

I am almost through the series, yet again, myself. I really appreciate how the characters grew and changed throughout the seven years and never tire of seeing it. I am very happy there are books to follow along with.

Every time I watch this show from the beginning it's a shock to see Nog in Emissary and other early episodes. Kid starts off in the first episode looting a store. Jake befriends him (against Sisko's judgement cause he's a bad influence), he goes to the "hu-mon" school, him and Jake become best friends, he joins Starfleet, and sees a great deal of battle, and in the last episode he is much older and mature, and respected by Sisko and the rest of the crew, and promoted to Lieutenant -- and you can even tell when Sisko decided to promote him while standing on the Defiant bridge after the battle at Cardassia.

What's really cool about watching this show multiple times is -- once you know the story, you can pay attention to the people more. This show is good at several levels and I've cried a lot of times during this show.

One thing I didn't like was -- no flashback scenes with Jadzia in WYLB.

Yeah I felt the flashback scenes were good with all the characters and the music was good for the scenes with the flashback, wished they had more scenes with other characters and sub characters. The dax flashbacks should of had both the characters in it that felt right and should have been homage to Terry Farrell. Did we ever find out why she left after 6 seasons always wanted to know pity she didn't stay for the final season !!!
