I like that idea, the Destiny is heading towards the center of the Universe because some deus ex machina is able to do some plot device.

^Looking at the course Destiny has taken so far and how long it's taken to get that far, wouldn't it take billions of years to get to the center of the universe, even if it was possible to figure out where that is ?

I'd be absolutely thrilled if SGU had a giant tonal shift and rise in quality for the second season, not unlike what happened with Torchwood. It sort of sounds like more of the same, though.
