Why? I have all of SG1 on dvd, and all but the last season of Atlantis on dvd. I paid to have Showtime for 5 years just for SG1. I think I've been a fan long enough to be able to say when I think something is wrong and am no longer enjoying the generic SG they've been throwing out lately.
Demanding that they fire the entire writing staff isn't exactly constructive criticism.
I'm a fan of the Stargate Franchise. I liked SG-1 mostly, and Atlantis mostly. SGU however, still has to win me over to call me a "fan" of that series. I'm still waiting. Let's let Season 1 finish and we'll see where we are. I'm willing to give it a couple of seasons, I'll give it a fair chance cause I do like the Franchise as a whole.

Depending on the show, that might be the only valid criticism.
Same here. I like SG:U about as much as I liked VOY.
I'll tune in again when Robert Knepper shows up. The writing will still stink, but at least he'll be fun. It took really horrible writing on Prison Break and Heroes to finally make him unwatchable on those shows, and hopefully SG:U will not descend to those depths.
The first half of the season has been pretty uninteresting. The recent episode was acceptable but not engaging.

I bailed on Prison Break when Michael started working for the guy from The War At Home and T-Bag joined some insurance company or something. Did it get much worse?
For the record, season 3 was shite too. Should have ended after season 2.
It's like Andromeda, great ideal with an entire universe of back story yet everything is going wrong. Hopefully TPTB can read and change gears next season

Let's put it this way - I mentioned my dislike of Christopher Ecclestone's Doctor once outside of the Doctor Who forum. Within minutes there was a "Hermiod hates Doctor Who" thread started in there.
The new Doctor Who has some serious flaws but it seems to be a taboo subject around here.

Nobody is forced to watch anything. I don't see the point of someone endlessly bashing a show they clearly don't like.
Doctor Who did recently get a new lead writer/producer/Doctor/companion. It's almost an entirely new show, pretty much.
There was actually plenty of criticism of the (now gone) Russel T. Davies era. USS Bones even has a critical review thread that's been going for a while....

I'll even go so far as to say that I'm a fan.
Maybe things have changed, but this board went through a period where criticism of the new Doctor Who was verboeten.
Constructive criticism is fine. "OMG! This show sucks!" is not.
Pointing out what you like or dislike about a tv show is all part of the experience. The main reason I come to this forum is to see what other fans think of the latest episodes, good or bad. Some fans may even point out some things I missed. I agree though that simply saying "it sucks" without giving any good reason doesn't serve any purpose.
