SGU CANCELLED!

Damn. I liked the show, and it had indeed improved quite a bit. Now all I've got to watch on Tuesdays is "Glee" for 2011, and unlike SGU THAT show's quality had been decreasing IMO. Guess Tuesday will become games night...
I'm just hoping that SGU will have enough closure to it at the end of the season, but I doubt it. SG-1 had "Unending" and SGA had "Enemy at the Gate", and while neither was intended as a series finale, both had enough closure to at least let the audiences sign off the show with some measure of satisfaction. I really doubt we'll get too much from the SGU finale for the overall story arc we'd been teased about since the start... At best, we'll have some closure on the character arcs from this season before Destiny - and the franchise - sails of into the unknown, never to be heard from until some exec decides to do a reboot.

I doubt that there will be another Stargate series for a long long time. You'd probably see a Stargate movie reboot before another series. Or nothing.

Hah, yup. I mean seriously, there's Fringe, V...Doctor Who I guess, but this is it for good ol' fashioned Trek like spaceship drama, which happens to be something I really like.
Blood and Chrome, I dont think i'm not even gonna bother with. The sets are gonna look terrible, and it will fail to get any kind of meaningful viewership, just like SGU and Caprica.

Ouch. According to Alessandra Torresani, David Blue (Eli) found out the show was canceled by reading it online.
Not surprised. You don't get renewed when you pull in under a million viewers.
Gateworld hasn't actually posted the news. There's a topic in the forums devoted to it, though.

Just when it was getting interesting! This sucks. I hope at least SOME of the plot gets resolved, although with only 10 episodes left and knowing SGU's pacing...it's unlikely.

The end of it? No. There'll be plent of other stuff coming out likes bookbs, games etc and I imagine they'll try another TV series at some point. However, they need some new writers in order for such a TV show to work.

Since there's unlikely to be any closure to events on the show I'm not sure I'll even bother watching the last 10 episodes.

While I don't have a particular like for their moderation style...I wouldn't say that. I hate to think that gaggle of women would be quite so Nazi.
I think they'll be careful but if this is all a fake (which I doubt) then this kind of news will certainly kill any ratings the series will have when it returns.
