I guess we just have high standards. They may be double standards, but they're high.
Are you two fucking kidding me?
Yes. That was, in fact, a joke.

Apparently they're not. It's because this is the 1950s. She's either a virgin or a slut.
I don't know about anyone else, but I'm glad those days are gone.

I think less of Lt. Fucksalot than I do Chloe. She has understandable issues. He's just horny.
Ditto.Apparently they're not.I don't know about anyone else, but I'm glad those days are gone.
I'm even gladder there are people like you and me in this world.
Indeed, the Ancients and Asgard had a big alliance, along with the Nox and Furlings. Technology and materials and so forth might have been exchanged. Or, these Asgard found an Ancient outpost and raided it, seeing as they were outcasts, they probably stole Ancients space suites and modified them for their use. At any rate, there is a definite connection.

The EVA suits from the Destiny that appear in this episode don't just look similar to the battle suits worn by the Asgard in Atlantis's "First Contact" and "The Lost Tribe." They're a reuse of the same costumes, for a very deliberate reason that remains to be revealed.
Yeah, I know, I'm fucking nuts. How could I possibly think that fucking someone you just met is wrong?!? What kind of a 1950s dinosaur misogynist piece of shit I must beWell, regardless of the Eli thing, some of us, me included, are happy to call her a tramp for sleeping with some dude she just met![]()

High standards my ass. More like self-righteousness.

I don't buy into cultural relativism very strongly. I'm perfectly comfortable in saying stuff like "throwing your baby off a cliff if it happens to be a girl" is wrong. I realize this isn't the same kind of thing, but I think given the health and reproductive consequences involved it's a moral issue. Especially depending on your stances in regards to certain more TNZy issues. You've got to figure not much in the way of birth control made it to Destiny.Yeah, I know, I'm fucking nuts. If you think fucking someone is just met is not for you, fine. You live your life as you see fit.
But, don't presume to judge others on how they should live their life.
There are all different kinds of people in this world and not even a quarter of them would easily fit into my way of life - or yours.
Point well taken. I was initially speaking more or less in those terms, though I'm comfortable in making that 'moral judgment'."Wrong" may be too strong a statement; it makes a moral judgement.
Definitely wrong for Chloe, in that she's being naive in thinking that Scott is in love with her. She should know better, because 2 days with someone isn't really enough time to know someone very well at all. Scott on the other hand is just a douche, because he doesn't seem to care that she wants more than sex from him, and is just throwing whatever lines out there he needs in order to get some. But wrong for Chloe----that's a lot more defensible, because it's simply a character judgment. I guarantee she is not going to be happy when she finally wakes up and realizes Scott doesn't give a damn about her.
*sigh*, Buffy, what a hoI dislike Buffy's ill-advised liason with Parker for the same reason.

My initial comment was from the perspective of what I would think of her if I knew her. I'm still not sure what the root problem of me not liking her for sleeping with a random dude is... If it's an oversensitive woman's rights thing, if it makes you feel any better I don't like Scott either, they're both useless to me.Bullshit. You're statement had nothing to do with the tv show and everything to do with you're own self-righteousness.
It's not you personally. Just the general attitude that women should be "pure".
I think it's sexist and unrealist.![]()
