This contest is about stories that have been adapted to another medium. Any Science Fiction or Fantasy story is fair game. The goal is to post an avatar from an adapted version of a previously published or released story. This could be a comic book adaptation or novelization of a film or a film or play that has adapted a novel or comic book. Nearly anything is fair game with the following caveats:
The adapted work has to be a work that has attempted to tell the same story (ie. a genuine adaptation) given the understanding that all adaptations contain differences from the original work. A work that is based on a character or a setting but is not adapting a specific work doesn't count and neither does a sequel or a reboot that makes extensive changes to the original. For example, Kubrick's The Shining counts even though it makes some significant changes to details of the story, but nu Battlestar Galactica does not because it is essentially a separate story from the original series. Also, stories that use the characters or settings of a property but tell a different story don't count either. So the Stranger Things play or Star Trek 2009 are not acceptable.
When you post, please mention the work that you are adapting from if it is not obvious.
Entries must be no larger than 200x200 and a max 1MB. Also they must be safe for work.
You can enter as many times as you like but no more than once per day. I will post my first entry tomorrow.
Have fun!
