Wolverine and Catwoman!
I know the theme is music in film, but doing Chicago and Dreamgirls is neither recent enough to be timely or long enough ago to be nostalgic. It just seems out of place next to Les Miserables. They should have just done more from LM, since it was a great performance.
I'm not into musicals but getting the Miserables cast together for this was pretty impressive.
Helena Bonham Carter and Sacha Baron Cohen got drowned out, Russel Crowe still can't sing, yet somehow this version of One Day More was still better than what they actually put in the movie.
Am I the only one who really didn't like this Les Miserables mash up?
Slight digression here but I just realized Paul Giamatti should've starred in the Oz movie
That was stage worthy. The cast should do broadway
I understand why they did it. They wanted a big cast song, which is One Day More, but Hathaway's character is not in it. They altered the lyrics a bit and fit her into it. The melody didn't change at all, since the beginning of the song is essentially I Dreamed a Dream.
More Trek! Yeah!
Gah. Th fanboy in me just screamed WRONG MUSIC
Haha! Me too. But then the other part of me thought that I really love hearing the TMP/TNG theme, so I don't mind.
I didn't know so much care and detail went into cgi characters.
Me four. Then I thought... So what. It's Trek.
Ugh. I thought we were over the whole CG characters on stage thing.
Marky Mark does a pretty good "put upon" expression.
I always worry when they do live cgi stuff. What if something goes wrong? Then the presenter ends up looking silly.
Les Miserables wins Sound Mixing, as musicals always do when nominated. 11/12.
8/12 The hubbub about the on set singing made this one a sure bet.
