News Seth MacFarlane’s The Orville

Hm, I have a FOX slot under Hulu, but I haven't had tv in ten years, so I'm not familiar with these network subscriptions that exist outside of apps. That sounds annoying if I need to get a "cable" subscription to watch orville.
Can you watch, say, Lucifer, through your Hulu? If so, I would think you should be able to see Orville.

Fox is one of the networks that set up Hulu, and when I used it back when it was still free, I think all of their stuff was on there. So unless something big changed when it went to a subscription based system, you should be fine.
I don't know a ton about the apps, all I know is every now and them it asks me to log into my household's cable account. Some of the networks do give you a free preview before you log in, but they tend to range from as short as 5 minute, to a full hour.

I wonder when can we expect Liam Neeson? Neeson also also seems to have a thing for working with MacFarlane, he's been in AMWTDITW, has done voice work on Family Guy, and had a cameo in Ted 2.

We're getting Norm MacDonald as the gelatinous blob in at least the pilot.

Norm voiced Death in his first appearance on FG.

I wonder if any of the FG regulars will ever guest on the Orville?

ABC at one point advertised Norm's show "Norm" with his head flushing down a toilet...

Norm played "The Hole" in a TV series best forgotten...

And now he's playing mellow Jell-O.

Maybe next he'll play a pile of monkey dung. He just keeps aiming lower. Which is sad, 'cause he's hilarious.

Speaking of guest stars, I'm wondering if we might see Patrick Stewart eventually. His CIA boss is a major recurring character on American Dad, he's done several TNG cutaways on Family Guy, and he was the narrator of at least the first Ted (I don't know about 2, I haven't seen it), so he has a pretty good history with McFarlane. Not to mention the obvious Trek connection would make it a lot of fun.
Honestly, I think I'd rather see Trek actors doing cameos and guest roles on The Orville, even more than I would on Discovery.

That would be very cool.

They have to be careful, though. Yes, this is a "sanctioned" TV show, but they're really stacking up the Trek talent on this thing, both in front of and behind the camera. I would think they may start needing to be a little careful - if this thing (unlikely) gets better numbers than Discovery and if it starts getting a little too..."Trek-y", CBS might just try to pull an Axanar on them, maybe asking them to throttle it back at first, and then...well...

McFarlane was also the executive producer of Blunt Talk which Patrick Stewart starred in. I think it's fairly likely he'll become involved in some capacity.

Seth definitely has some serious connections, or at least incriminating photos or whatnot.

Since they sent my Mama off to prison
Things down on the farm ain't been the same
And now they've gone and let her out of jail
She drove her goddamned truck into a train...

I seem to remember someone I knew had a tape of spoof country songs in that vein.

They really don't though. They're doing a comedic parody of the genre, which is protected fair use. Stewart could show up in uniform as Captain Picard and as long as they made a joke about it they're pretty much golden.

In fact, if one were so inclined to make a fan-film and get around the fan-film rules, one could just throw in some jokes and call it a parody. And if one is not funny, one could just hire actors willing to have sex in a few scenes and call it a "porn parody". Though if one were planning to invest a lot of money in such a project, one might not want to take advise from a half-educated dickhead on the internet before consulting a lawyer.

@Venardhi , help me out here for future posts. Try to make sure at whom your aiming terms like "half-educated dickhead". I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt and assuming you met yourself or a more generic target. One could take it as aiming it at @137th Gebirg .

Much appreciated.
