Yes, i always liked the square type handle head design.I like the wider head in the Cybermen.

Seems a wasted opportunity.Anji Mohandra will be in Season 12. She is not playing Rani from SJA:
Sure it happens, but this is the rare case of an actor having a lead role as one character and then return as a guest to play another.Pete Capaldi has two different roles in the franchise before getting cast as the Doctor, and he is not the first who played multiple characters.
Re-using actors is a tradition in DW that goes back a long time.
Yes but if they'd cast her as Rani you'd have a whole batch of fans thinking that she was the Rani and then disappointed that she was some unrelated character from a spin-off that they'd never seen.Sure it happens, but this is the rare case of an actor having a lead role as one character and then return as a guest to play another.
And again, it's a missed opportunity and a wasted one. I'm sure she'll be great in this new role, but I'll be thinking the whole time how we could've gotten Rani instead and didn't.
They're not really fans if they didnt watch that spin-off.Yes but if they'd cast her as Rani you'd have a whole batch of fans thinking that she was the Rani and then disappointed that she was some unrelated character from a spin-off that they'd never seen.
Of course there's always the possibility that her new role will be the Rani and we'll discover that Rani from SJA was her undercover.I'll be thinking the whole time how we could've gotten Rani instead and didn't.
Sorry, I've been meaning to watch it!!!! I feel so inadequate now!!They're not really fans if they didnt watch that spin-off.![]()
Finally! pretty excited for this, I am really enjoying Jodie Whittaker as the Doctor and I'm excited to see where they go next season, I wish it was shown annually.
I hope they keep the idea of three companions, I think that really worked well last season and they managed all the characters well. I would like to see more of Yaz, and I'm curious about the idea of Yaz and the Doctor becoming romantically involved, I don't think they will do that, but I wouldn't hate it.

Well, get to it already! The show is so wonderful, especially if you're a Sarah Jane fan!Sorry, I've been meaning to watch it!!!! I feel so inadequate now!!![]()
But that didn't stop them bringing from back Lis Sladen as Sarah Jane. The idea that some fans wouldn't know who she is would be a reason to bring her back is silly. This show has a very deep history so eight years is nothing. Also, you know, the Internet. It might also have something to do with the last SJA episode was October 2011 and series 12 is 2020 so most of the audience will probably not remember a character she played nine years before.
In 2005 I never thought we would be discussing "9 years previously in nuWho..."
I wondered about this issue as well.Wouldn't they have also have to pay for the rights to the JSA character?
I'm sure Russell T. Davies wouldn't have any issue but the BBC might not want to pay.
Which has happened before too, at least in the classic era when Jacqueline Hill came back for Meglos.this is the rare case of an actor having a lead role as one character and then return as a guest to play another.
BBC seems to be okay with paying RTD to use the Judoon this season.Wouldn't they have also have to pay for the rights to the JSA character?

As mentioned above, they brought back Sarah Jane in 2006, thirty years after she left. SJA brought back the Brigadier almost twenty years after his last Doctor Who appearance. Indeed, given SJA was aimed at young children, the majority of the target audience likely didn't know who the Brigadier even was.It might also have something to do with the last SJA episode was October 2011 and series 12 is 2020 so most of the audience will probably not remember a character she played nine years before.

I was trying to rack my mind for previous examples but, yup, I forgot about Jacqueline Hill. Thanks for the reminder.Which has happened before too, at least in the classic era when Jacqueline Hill came back for Meglos.
Indeed. It's a nice treat for long-time fans and it's just a past connection that new fans won't be familiar with, but it's not a big deal. Besides, we get plenty of references to off-screen adventures like Jim the Fish or some old friend of The Doctor that the viewer has never met (Azrael in the classic series is the only one I can think of at the moment, but I know it's happened in the new series) and that doesn't confuse anyone. Why would Rani be any different? As mentioned above, they brought back Sarah Jane in 2006, thirty years after she left.
