Series 11 News & Spoilers

I qualified it with "At first anyway" because in the new series you had Rose, Mickey, and Jackie as some kind of companions as their series went on. I just wonder if it was too crowded because you're also introducing a new Doctor. I just hope the Companions don't overshadow the new doctor, especially with this being uncharted territory for the series as a whole. I could go with no more Claras for a while.
 
Eh, Jackie wasn't really a proper companion except briefly in the series two finale. Hell, Mickey was only a proper companion for four episodes in series two himself.

As for overshadowing, that wasn't a problem for Peter Davison.

I wouldn't know. I just know there were times when I thought Capaldi deserved better.
 
The tin dog is awesome (and a good boy!) and I'll fight anyone who says otherwise.

Mickey's pretty cool too, and I'd pay tramps to stand next to anyone who says otherwise.

Jodie's Doctor looks like she's going to maintain the bright personality, which will be nice. The Doctor's resolved most of the angst RTD and Moff introduced (found out they didn't destroy the Time Lords, got Gallifrey back, got over Clara and Bill, even nearly convinced Missy to repent) so would be nice to see the new incarnation actually enjoying her adventures. The early Matt Smith ones are the last time I was convinced the Doctor was actually having fun rather than putting on a pretence.
 
Well, that was a lame teaser. Just three people with glowing lights around them then The Doctor staring vacantly at the screen. That doesn't really get me all that excited for the show. Hopefully there will be a better trailer when we're closer to the premiere.
 
Besides the aforementioned Rose/Mickey/Captain Jack we also had Amy/Rory/River, Bill/Nardole/Missy and (kinda) Clara/Madame Vastra/Jenny/Strax. Granted a lot of this was only for a handful of episodes each season, but the show never felt overcrowded during those episodes.

I could see the argument that Stolen Earth/Journey's End felt a tad overcrowded, but those episodes still worked. And I don't think we'll be seeing a fucking horde like Rose/Mickey/Jackie/Sarah Jane/Martha/Donna/Wilfred/Captain Jack/Gwen/Ianto/Harriet Jones, former Prime Minister anytime soon.

EDIT: Oh, also the Doctor Who panel at Comic Con is Thursday. Maybe we'll get something more substantial then.
