I've just heard from my sister. She has one long time friend who still lives in Rome. Sorry to say she is out of work and couldn't possibly take these beautiful cats. Ghostie, I'm hoping for them.

How much does keeping a cat cost per month (including a reserve for the vet)? Maybe I could sponsor the cats if your sister's friend would like to adopt them.

Craig's list is an excellent idea! We could point people there to the shelter. If they insist in wanting younger cats, they'd at least get them from the pet sanctuary.
Also, I got a very good impression of the staff from the shelter. They can be relied upon finding the perfect new owners for the cats. We just need to point potential candidates into the right direction.

It should be flat out illegal to not allow pets or to discriminate against people with them. It's so ridiculous. Took my sister an entire year to find a decent place to live that allowed pets.

l agree.
Here l have seen apt. ads that say "responsible pet owners wanted" - the pets need to be fixed and the apts are pet friendly and a great price. But they're rare.

The trouble is there are a lot of lousy owners...

The shelter would probably pass on any note you want to give but I don't think they will give you their phone number. I'm sure you can get a message sent however.

I know when it is time for me to get new cats I will be adopting a pair that came in together.
