Section 31: I hope it still happens.

Apropos of nothing, personally I’d rather they keep Georgiou (and Discovery) in the future...but have the 23rd-century Section 31 use that memetic-simbiot clone method from Enterprise to simply grow another of her from stored genetic material, and that’s our protagonist on Section 31.

Didn't that thing only have a lifespan of two weeks?

Definitely a sci-fi premise.

I didn't catch the CC@H stream, but I see no new mention of this show in any of the summaries. Looks like if it does happen, it will happen after SNW S1.

If they keep Georgiou in the future, that means Shazad Latif is out of a job. I mean, I guess he can make appearances on SNW, but I don't think Pike wants to deal with Section 31 too much.

First it was delayed to allow for Picard and now its looking like the same is happening in favor of SNW, I can't say I blame the show runners though, both Picard and SNW are better prospects and that is coming from someone who feels that S31's addition brings a much more realistic dimension to the Federation and Starfleet.

The more time that passes with no news on the show the less likely it is to happen.

I do think they are better off keeping Georgiou in the future, plus it will keep her effect on the pre TOS era to what we have already seen and no more.

Bit of a bummer for Shazad but they could always use him in SNW with no mention of S31 or as a completely different character.

Perhaps S31 will have a hand in Pike somehow avoiding his fate while keeping events as we have seen them.

"we really started digging into the mythology of Section 31, which had been dealt with on other shows" - and then chose to ignore all that. XD

We need to stop going back to TOS era, I'd honestly be happy if S31 with Michelle Yeoh & even Michael Burnham moves over to S31.

They can do a 25th century "Alias" like TV series set in S31.

Maybe have them cross-over with Star Trek: Picard.

If the setting is supposed to be surprising does that imply that it is not in any of the time periods Disco is set in? Maybe they will set it back before the Romulan war and flesh that out after a time travel mishap. Or maybe it's the concept he is referring to. Whatever it is, I hope they keep it a secret until it premieres.

Well it did say the setting could be surprising. That's something.
No, it's not. It's more vaporware.

"Could be" is suggestive and hypothetical, not informative; it's entirely your option to infer whatever you want because nothing has, in fact, been said.

Come on, this is pretty basic.

So she's already a displaced Emperor from the Mirror-23rd century, who goes to the Prime 23rd, then to the 32nd, then to another time period? That is non-sense even by the current standards.

Yeah, that Kurtzman quote from Variety...
Erika [Lippoldt] and Boey [Yeon Kim], who are two of our writers on Discovery, have been working with Craig Sweeny, who was a writer we worked for a long time and he ran Limitless for us. And they’ve been doing an amazing job building the show. So I’m really excited about where it’s going. And I can’t wait to see Michelle in that part. And I think people are going to be very surprised about the world that it occupies. We’ve seen stuff online where people have guessed certain things, but some they are nowhere even near guessing. So that’s that’s pretty fun.
...I wonder what things have people guessed right?

If it's what world Section 31 occupies, Georgiou staying in the 32nd century would make the most sense from a narrative point. Or at least I know it's what I'd like to see. Otherwise she'd have to steal Burnham's Red Angel suit (or her mother's; who I assume we'll see again in season 3), or build her own. Neither of which I think are really that good from a storytelling point of view. Because the first scenario would have to have them contradict what they said in season 2, and the second I suppose they could do, but eh... And I imagine there's other ways you can get her back too, but still... eh, just leave her where she is.

Also, having Georgiou setting up Section 31 in the 32nd century could explain why the series hasn't gone into production yet. And that's because they have to first establish the 32nd century in Discovery and then spin-off a Star Trek: Section 31 show from that (and they may have had an initial plan on how they wanted to do things, but may have then come up with a better idea, hense the delay).

Whatever they ultimately end up doing (and whenever they decide to set it) is fine by me. Just give me the black badges and the black uniforms, the all-black everything, and the crazy tech, and I'm good.

God, I hope not. I don't want the 32nd century to dominate Star Trek.

I want politics in a recognizable Star Trek.

It's why I love Lower Decks, Picard, and previous seasons of DISCO. What's the point of reviving Section 31 in a post-apocalypse future? If you're going to do a spy show, do it at the time of the Federation's height.

I was assuming they'd return to the 23rd century after Season 3 and am still devastated that doesn't seem to be the case.
