I'm sure it can still be a flop.I have a hypothetical question: how long does it have to stay in the Paramount+ Top 10 before it isn't a flop?

I remember a time before I was aware how many other people watched something.I have a hypothetical question: how long does it have to stay in the Paramount+ Top 10 before it isn't a flop?
...As well as everyone else who sees that curious little all-or-mostly-black badge on their curious all-black uniforms that nobody else wears, flying around in their curious all-black starships that are kind of Starfleet looking but not, that nobody else flies around in. Curiously...
For a covert organization that should be silently whispering "Fuck off", they sure are loudly screaming, "Look at me!!!" pretty consistently.
I am reminded of the response to the first Venom movie. The critical reception was horrible and everyone expected it to flop and fade away into obscurity. Instead, it made a boatload of money and spawned a trilogy. It would be neat if something similar happened here, despite the critical response. Not necessarily a trilogy of 31 movies, but the straight to streaming movie concept in general, which I would like to see continue.I have a hypothetical question: how long does it have to stay in the Paramount+ Top 10 before it isn't a flop?
this. While i don't think it's especially likely we'll see the S31 characters again, I definitely want the 'Long Trek' TV movies to continueI am reminded of the response to the first Venom movie. Those are part of an equation we have no knowledge of. The bean counters will have their say. I understand it's doing very well.I have a hypothetical question: how long does it have to stay in the Paramount+ Top 10 before it isn't a flop?
It's also a cost-to-benefit ratio as well. Paramount+'s Halo series had about twice the amount of billions of minutes viewed as Discovery (season 5), but Paramount cancelled it because it was too expensive for what they were getting in viewers.Slop nothing movies end up in the top 10 on Netflix all the time, and are never heard of again.
That is to say, it can both be a "hit" on the platform, and be a huge failure for Paramount+.
Trek is at the "just about right" part of the porridge table. It's also a cost-to-benefit ratio as well. This. It's coming out now that a LOT more people watched the infamous Star Wars: Acolyte than the haters would have you believe: https://gizmodo.com/star-wars-the-a...t-watched-show-on-disney-last-year-2000555281 . Disney still stands by its cancellation though due to how expensive the Acolyte was to make. In this era, the number of views is no guarantee. A lot of people could be watching Section 31 but if those views don't make up for how much it costs, then it's meaningless. It's also a cost-to-benefit ratio as well. RLM have just dropped their review
Bele and Lokai were fighting for 50,000 Earth years as of TOS. What were they doing in the early 21st century? Apparently infiltrating TrekBBS boards...Wait, I thought they were half-white half-black.
There's a BIG difference, y'know!![]()
There's a decent chance more people will see the RLM review than S31 itselfNo thanks. I can tell by the thumbnail that it isn't something I would want to watch.
