Suddenly by TNG the stated warp speeds are MUCH slower, and Voyager needs 70 years to make 70,000 light years (something that would've taken a month by TOS speeds).
Even TNG did Warp 10 and jumped to another galaxy. So, Voyager's foundational premise was bull from the start, even in the TNG era.

Speed of plot. That's the only way Trek works.

The writers could really do with better tools to calculate this stuff, so that it's effortless for them to keep things consistent. Even more effortless than just asking ChatGPT.

They go to the center of the galaxy in TAS. Then again in ST5
Yep. Also to the outer edge of the galaxy three times in TOS, and back to Earth between each visit.

Basically Kirk traveled at least 250,000 light years between a handful of episodes alone. But that's what happens when your engineer is a miracle worker, right? ;)

Where they met first the Devil, then God.
Did they ever meet Bob?

This can easily be explained. In TNG they use a map of the galaxy viewed from above, so the distance from Earth to the galactic core or the galactic barrier seems to be tens of thousands of light years. But TOS looks at it from the side, so the locations are basically all right next to each other.

Exactly. If the barrier is also on top and below (as the Star Charts book explains), it's much closer.

That doesn't make them right next to each other...

Tricorder cellphones complete with using the flash. At least Picard didn’t do that.

Liked they used the Berman era warp field. Didn’t like the use of the Berman era tricorder sound fx here though.

Seven used a Samsung Galaxy Z flip phone in PIC S2. I think they added a custom case to it, though.

Pretty sure the tricorders in Nemesis were a repurposed Blackberry, or whatever its equivalent was around the time.

i always imagined that there were different types of tricorders out there. Starfleet has its own that's designed for heavy wear and tear in the field, but they aren't the only kind of tricorders out there.

The tricorders are the least of the issues in this movie, IMO.
