There's a reason why TNG never revisited the Mirror Universe. It's just not plausible or believable. Mirror Georgiou's backstory by the very nature of how her universe is defined isn't going to be plausible or believable either.
What the fuck? TNG did implausible things every week. Trek's built on it.

The Mirror universe was one of TOS's most popular episodes from the day it first ran.

The next Emperor was probably worse. Christine:evil:

In my head canon Una(Number one) became the new emperor and her queen was former Captain of the Enterprise in Christine Chapel. When she became queen she turned the captains chair over to Pike who would later turn it over to Kirk.

Yeah...about that

I think it still works if we just switch it to that. My theory is Pike was Captain Chapel's first officer and lover. Kirk was the ops officer. Kirk discovered the Tantalus device on a landing mission and used it to kill PIke. He planned to someday use it on Emperor Unas but first he wanted to make sure he had enough people in the fleet who would support him as the new leader. But then Spock replaced him and that never happened. It was Spock who would use the device to gain power and begin the effort to make the empire more peaceful.

Did they ever have Georgiou show any remorse for her actions in the Mirror Universe?

Unfortunately, future writers didn't/don't understand what a paper thin concept it is.

I think we are suppose to think she feels remorse. Only that she cares about Burnham and maybe wants to become a better because of her. She was never really written all that well so lots of it is just sort of making guesses.

I think she feels remorse and regret and doesn't know how to cope with it.

Her exterior roughness will remain even as she makes peace with her past atrocities.

I believe I'll call it growth..

I wonder what the reason for having those childhood flashbacks are

Has she actually shown any remorse for her actions? In universe, it has been at least four years since she came from the Mirror Universe.
She kept trying to save (good) lives in the Terra Firma two parter. Mirror Saru for example was going to be killed for some reason I'm blanking on for the moment, but she stepped in and saved him.

MU Georgiou is the biggest failure in character creation I have ever seen in any media, and certainly a black mark on the Trek franchise as a whole.

In "Fast and Furious" they cast Jason Statham as a badguy. To show how evil he was, he is introduced blowing up a hospital and killing one of the main heroes (Han). Then the writers find out Statham is a cool guy & likes to return to the franchise, so they have him team up with the heroes.

Georgiou is like that, just dialed up to one-hundred-eleven (out of ten). Even in F&F, they actually do try to redeem the bad guy, have him treated with suspicion, and have the dead guy return (Hospital stays blown up though).
But Trek? They went so far beyond the limit, they reached comedic territory, and then doubled down in it. There is no way to parody what's happened, it's too absurd.

Indiana Jones teaming up with a snarky Hitler in the 60s would be more appropriate. At least we would have been spared the cannibal angle.

TrekFandom is so damn negative. I love this site, but people hate shows and movies before they even come out.

Discovery never deserved the hate it got. I have said frequently that it is not my favorite Trek show by far, but it was still better than 80 percent of shows.

In my opinion, Georgiou was the best character created in the 5 years of Discovery.

Yeoh is one of the best actresses out there now. We should be excited about an A lister wanting to do a Star Trek film.

I was disappointed by the trailer, but it was just one early trailer.

Everybody relax. In my opinion, all 5 nuTrek shows are/were phenomenal (Discovery, Picard, Lower Decks, Strange New Worlds, and Prodigy). Are they perfect shows? No, but they are all quality shows that are not stinkers.

I am disappointed in the upcoming work comedy, but I wasn't excited about Prodigy either and ended up loving it.

The character is bad but that seems a little extreme. Their is lots and lots of bad characters out their in fiction. Not all of them are at least played by a Oscar winner.
