Sounds (to me, at least) like the Earth Defense Force has some pretty nice tech!

...but probably just tin toys compared to what the Galactics have ;-)

Does everyone agree that this is "pseudoscience" & "bunk"?

I find it highly compelling, and it actually gives me hope, and it kinda makes me proud... but also sad (because it's all a secret, a lie...)

Wait, at first I thought you were Toby Zeigler exposing the secret military space shuttle, but now you're starting to sound like Morpheus.

Riddle me this.

This Earth Defense Force with ¾-mile-long interstellar carriers, space fighters, Moon bases, training facilities on Titan, time travel drives, fusion energy, and apparently cloaking devices to hide all this stuff, was created by pooling the combined efforts of the US, Russia, China, and presumably the EU, Japan, and India, right?

So how come we can't roll out the Obamacare website properly the first time? Why is the smog so dense in Shanghai? Why were stray dogs running through incomplete hotels at the Sochi Olympics? Why do Icelandic volcanoes cause so much trouble for our airplanes when we could just fly through space? Why were we using a primitive fission reactor at Fukushima? How come we didn't do more for New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina? Why is there an Ebola outbreak? Why is landing on a comet such a great accomplishment when we can fly to other solar systems? Why are we debating the Keystone XL Pipeline when we have clean fusion power already? Why can't we go back in time and stop 2Pac's hologram from being kidnapped by those evil concert promoters and their captured 29th century technology?

I get that we have to make our "real" space program look incredibly shitty right now to cover for the real real *wink, wink* space program, but why does everything else have to be so shitty too?

Even if this was true, it's depresssing. Why? Because you can look around at Earth and tell that we haven't developed the technologies necessary for this here. Which means that the only way our governments would have gotten hold of it would be by either negotiating for it with visiting aliens, or by taking it from said aliens by force.

All of which would mean that our first contact with alien life was with aliens so freaking inept, stupid, and/or unwise that they were either able to be taken out by the proportional equivalent of a couple of natives throwing rocks and sticks at them, or, to actually think it was a good idea to just hand over suitcase nukes to them.

That really wouldn't bode well for what else we'll find out there. Thankfully, it is crap. I'm not one to automatically turn down "conspiracy theories", because if you think about it, every REAL conspiracy ever was a theory that everyone was telling the person looking into it was unlikely at best or insane at worst before they found their proof. BUT, you have to temper them with a bit of smell-testing. About as far as I would be willing to go is that the USAF has it's own space shuttles or planes and a small base or supply station on the dark side of the moon or somewhere else that can't be easily monitored from Earth - and I consider that to be at the very edge of probability, but, there has at least been some (very circumstantial) evidence that something like that just might be true. But what amounts to Imperial Star Destroyers? Nope.
